Does this hybrid kit still use a 3-pin fan connected to the video card resulting in max fan rpm? If so, could I plug the fan connector onto my motherboard fan header and control it through the bios based on video card temp?

I changed the title. Announced, is accurate. Released, is not.

No. You would just wait for the hybrid card to release in that case.

This was fast. Hopefully they will come out with the GTX 1080ti FTW HYBRID soon 😠.

Fast? It's been like almost 8 months since this was coming! These are for Titan XP as well...

I use MX-4 on everything.  I have tried other TIMs but MX-4 has been the best contender for me.

My 980Ti did but you could set fan levels in PrecisionX or just flash modified VBIOS with custom fan curve.

Yeah, it really wouldn't make sense otherwise. Scarlet-Tech I saw this happening in the future where people would just ask for Evga to do an Air/Water cooler upgrade without paying much, and before the Official 1080Ti Variants with the Air and Hydro-coolers are ever released. And you know what, what o foresaw is happening with people  already asking and even some expecting Evga to just add the Air and Hydro-coolers to the FE edtion.

Of course this has happened before to with older Gpu's.

live with a few % performance diffrence? and turn up the fe fan speed higher than stock fan curve with afterburner or xoc. Or if you really don't trust your self and must have an aio on your card i am sure theres a computer shop near you that would do this. but then that adds even more for a small boost. I will probably resist the urge to buy this and live with my Fe card

I am Pittsburgh, really NO shops here. My card is heating up. 40 to 84 C in 5 mins on CS Go

Probably my case is to be blamed, I have negative pressure, 2 intake and 3 exhaust and 1080 Ti also is an exhaust.

The other option is to sell this at a good loss of 100-150$ and get an FTW3 or something. Mine was a step up so I had no option but to get this.

running stock fan speeds? or custom curve ? set a fan curve that hits 70% at like 70c or something and see how your card does. heres a video on a 980ti hybrid card not 100% the same but very close https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MepbdKc6m_s

If you can unscrew some screws you can do it. It seems crazy to take apart a card the first time but I actually enjoy taking them apart now as weird as that is.

You just gotta be gentle and take your time plus there are videos and instructions etc..

http://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/TITAN_X_HYBRID_Installation_Guide.pdf

I would say just do your homework and go for it! You will be happy with yourself after the install and know how to do it in the future.

I don't do it for the OC as much.. I do it for the cooling effect, ejection of heat outside of my case and especially the silence. I cant stand the vacuum noise from air coolers like my 980 TI had.

I'm actually looking forward to this cooler because I used the corsair bracket on my 980 TI and that Corsair bracket is a piece of JUNK! When I installed the Corsair bracket I learned the sad truth that it bends the card and didn't utilize the backplate at all making the bend even Worse! So I spent a ton of time rigging my backplate to work with some of my own hardware... IT was a pain!

YOU GOTTA RISK IT TO GET THE BISCUIT!

Yeah no kidding.  This recent build was my first since 2001 when the GeForce3 was in style.   I don't remember liquid cooling being all that back in those days and this is my first experience with it and I must say it's pretty amazing.  Stress testing my CPU has topped out at about 80C with full load runs of hours and hours encoding video topping out in the mid 70's.

I'm very impressed... and totally plan to do the same thing to my Ti when this is released.  The silent cooling is awesome.

7700k here also running at that 5ghz she was firey tell after the delid. drooped a crazy 23-24c from it. went from 89c in prime to 65c  and gave me head room to push so i was able to push to 5ghz and still be at 67-69c depending if its winter or summer. with a slightly less awsome h105 cooler over your kraken 62

you can always have the intake run faster then exhaust. i have 4 exhaust and 3 intake but my exhaust fans don't spin that fast 800 or so rpm under gaming load on aio rad. and one barely spins at all and is just there to fill the gap left by my 240mm aio in my inwin303

Yeah the Kraken x62 is pretty sweet as long as you don't mind paying a premium.  I hear a lot of complaints about the price but it does a nice job and looks wicked to boot.  I can't really complain about full load temps in the mid 70's.

I read about the 7700k running hot.  My 4.8 is just a simple 1 button OC in the bios... it's been stable without problems.  It's running about 32C at idle... about 5C warmer at idle at 4.8 than the stock 4.2.  Whenever I get around to it I'm gonna try to push it to 5ghz with the manual settings...  I've read the 7700k can definitely hit 5.  I've also read about the delid process you speak of but I have absolutely no experience with that and would have to research it.

This is my first custom build in years and can't say I'm a hardcore OCer but I will try to push for extra performance every chance I get and liquid cooling definitely helps!

I would have went for the x62 but dang inwin303 case i have only supports 120mm multiplier of rads 240 ect. I ended up paying silicon lottery to delid mine was like 40$ but i did it while i still had my old build before upgrading so didn't really cause down time.my chip was pretty hot before the delid so you may not see as big of a temp drop as i did

I really want this but dont want to do the installing myself, I know I am going to screwup somehow. Any suggestions on what to do ?

live with a few % performance diffrence? and turn up the fe fan speed higher than stock with afterburner or xoc.

Yes everything stock. Okay I will try the custom fan curve.

If you can unscrew some screws you can do it. It seems crazy to take apart a card the first time but I actually enjoy taking them apart now as weird as that is.

You just gotta be gentle and take your time plus there are videos and instructions etc..

Well that gives me some confidence. So I guess its worth a shot.

Yeah you said 89C and I've done that too with Prime95 torture tests @ 50% fan speed...  turning the fans up keeps the temps in the mid 80's.

Will check out the delid... I'm curious more than anything.
