All,
Previously had been using my 1080 Ti FTW 3 with a 4770K @ 4.4 Ghz with a NH-D14. Maximum load temps for 1080 Ti was around 70C. This was on the stock fan curve and no change to the card clock frequency or the like.
Recently upgraded to a 1700 @ 3.8 Ghz with a NH-15. Maximum load temps for 1080 now hit around 76-78C. Case, air flow etc. are all the same. Although the 1700 isn't running exceptionally hot, the NH-D15 is slightly wider (or the layout of my new mobo is narrower) such that the cooler is now much closer to the backplate of the 1080 Ti compared to the NH-D14.
The reason for my posting is that I am not sure if the higher temps I am experiencing on my new setup is on account of the CPU cooler now being much closer to the backplate of the 1080 Ti or if I might have damaged the 1080 Ti during the course of the system re-install.
To the extent anyone has experienced something similar or can otherwise comment, I would greatly appreciate it.
Kind regards,
