I have been watching a variety of videos of 1080Ti FE SLI setups, and some people seem to maintain mid 60s to low 70s, while others are in the high 70s to low 80s range, what are you guys getting, how far down do the cards throttle, and how much space do you have between the cards? Also, I am considering getting the Hybrid kit, but my case is rather large which makes me think that the hoses wouldn't be long enough for me to be able to mount one of the radiators at the front of the case. So I thought that maybe I could mount the radiator of the bottom card in the bottom of the case where I currently have 2 120 mm fans installed, that should work, right? This isn't the best picture in the world but you can kind of see where the bottom fans are which is where I would try to install the second cards radiator. The case is a Corsair 750D Airflow edition. Thanks.

BCavnaugh, I know for a fact, and i'm sure you do to that some............. Very un-intelligent people are going to Sli the wrong way, without proper Air or even Water cooling. Then people will come here and say that there is a thermal issue, and that is because the do-it-yourself PC builders, and even so-called Techs did Sli the wrong way without proper ventilation and no proper cooling in their PC case or even if they are not using a PC case. People really need to be Carefull when they do an Sli setup. Even Single Gpu's like the SC's, the FTW's and the Ti's and Classifieds that are modded, or even un-modded must be properly done by only the right people. I just hope to God people do the right thing, as even some so-called professional techs are anything but to.

Will you be using a custom water loop or will you use the EVGA hybrid kit? I just remembered that the radiator should always be above the water pump so air pockets won't be created, so my plan of mounting it at the bottom is probably a bad idea. I did some measuring and it might work to mount it at the front. I guess I will buy at least one Hybrid kit for the top card and mount the radiator in the back, and that way I can test it whether mounting another one in the front is feasible or not.

Custom Water Loop. For me Hybrid is not Water but an AIO Closed Unit and I think users should call it Hybrid or AIO but not Water Cooled or Going Under Water. BTW My Hybrids above the GPU sucked as compared to being on the Same Level or Below the GPU. This was the best way I ran my Hybrids. Yes I have Hybrids, Air Cooled, and Custom Water Loops.

Yes, I have seen Threads here on the Forum of users having heating issues with Custom Water Loop Computer Builds and that should have never left the Store. Their is so much info here on the Forums that you would think that users would read all the Heating issues that users are having here and instead of doing the right way they would rather complain that their cards are to hot even though they installed an ACX Cooled card next to each other in a Mini Computer case and expect an RMA because their cards are bad do to overheating. So many times I have had a user tell be that you do not need and spaces between ACX Coolers and that EVGA is doing it wrong. But then some do come here and get the info they need and have Great Systems.

Yes stock not over clocked at the moment. Yes I run precision of and just set the fan profiles to aggressive as I always do. I will probably get to overclocking then in a few weeks after I'm sure everything is super stable while gaming. Which they have been great so far. Totally loving these two cards.

Bit off topic, but Yes. That is a x99 board you have more PCIe lanes than you probably know what to do with and even if you didn't the performance delta running a card in x8 is not noticeable. Make sure your Power Supply has enough wattage to power two 1080Ti's and a whichever CPU you have under load! A 500w or 600w is not enough.

That's exactly right. I'm running mine with the precision aggressive fan profile. The noise does not bother me and I prefer cooler running cards.

I got my hands on 2 1080s FE (not Ti) just to see how they would run in my computer. Lets just say they got a bit warm. I Overclocked the core by 200 and the memory by 450. After a few hours of Andromeda, the top card reached a hottest of 86 and the bottom one 84C and that's with both GPU fans at 100%. The cards started to throttle a good bit spending a lot of time in the 1700 Mhz range, sometimes even in the high 1600's. My CPU stayed at around 60C and the temps on the motherboard reached from 49 to just under 60. I guess all those temps are within normal limits. The biggest problem I have is that this room is rather warm and that the computer is in that little cubby hole as can be seen by the pic that I posted. I pull the computer out as far as I can without it tipping over when I play though. I definitely will need water cooling for the Ti's once I get them and I do want to use the Hybrid kits and not get involved in a custom water loop. So what is the consensus, is it ok for the radiator/fan to be mounted below the card (in the bottom location in my case if the hoses are not long enough to reach the front of the case)?

bcavnaugh Mine run 72-78C with setting the Fan to 90% and the cards running @ 2088MHz Still I will be going on water next week.
Sir, that's a lot of fans you got there! I like how you were able to use the drive cages to mount the radiators. I have never seen a double push pull fan configuration like that! Based on what you said, you had the best luck with the radiators in the "below or even with the card" configuration? Also, since your case seems to be a full tower like mine, would the hoses be long enough for the radiators to be mounted in the front of the case? Thanks!

Sajin Here are my results after 15 minutes of heaven 4.0 with my titan xp's in sli...
GPU fan settings: 100% Heaven settings: Max & dsr'd to 4k. Room temp: 76F
Gotta love open air test benches.
Here is a couple of my Pascal Titans @2160p Heaven 4 maxed 15mins Room temp 24C
The cards produce a lot of heat on this bench @4K
Nice temps. Air only? Backplates removed? Still using stock coolers?
EK water blocks and backplates. Normally there are 4 of them sharing the bathwater with a 6950X but they don't really get much warmer than above.

What are you guys doing with 1080ti's in SLI exactly, like what games/resolution/frames etc? Unless just benching purposes.
