Looks like its your first post on the forums MooseBubba.  Welcome.
All EVGA products, you can redo the TIM as long as you can put it back in the original condition.  There is a "tamper strip" on one of the screws, but that is just so the RMA department knows that the card was opened if it is ever RMAed.  Breaking that "tamper strip" DOES NOT void the warranty.

Not sure why one would need to repaste the SC2 ICX.  The card is so well constructed that the GPU is already cool...

Some people like to use better thermal paste. Taking the card apart can also be a fun learning experience.

thermal paste can actually make a difference in temps my friend who had one of the evga 1080 cards had a dramatic drop in temps with changing the thermal past, but then again he had a bad card and when the thermal paste changed the temps dropped alot

I changed thermal paste, cleaned it pretty good and the one was on it kinda little dry, not sticky ( strange ) cleaned heatsink and such, made sure pads was on correct spots, put new paste in and install it back together, went furmark ( Im already OC it from before ) wanted to see temps and in games v sync off, normal I'd get about 67-70c full loads, Now I get 55-61c most of the time, Im happy

    Oced to 2248 Mhz
    Memory at 7118mhz
    temp avg idle 28-32c
Temp avg gaming load 48-61c Never has really seen it over 65c
