I recently had one of my 1080 ICX FTW2 cards shoot sparks from under the backplate, or possibly the top plate, right next to the VRM chips. I have not disassembled the card to find what is damaged yet. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this with an ICX FTW2, I've found plenty about this being an ACX problem from before the ICX cards were built. My system has went through moderate usage over the 3 years since I built it. Far less usage than I intended when I built it, and far less usage than I would expect for this card to have exploding caps or whatever else might have caused the fireworks.

At any rate, the card is long out of warranty and EVGA will not likely be able to do anything for me anyway. Since the new cards are harder to get ahold of than a greased pig, and cost nearly double what this 1080 cost me 3 years ago, I will be attempting to repair the card myself or have it repaired if the work looks too involved for me to handle.
