Will EVGA be offering this kind of step up?

    Step up is for reference pcb cards. Ftw3 is not reference, so it will more than likely not make it on the step up list.

    The only time EVGA ever adds the custom cards is when they are trying to fix an specific issue that effevts the functionality of the card. An example and 970 not being able to use lighted sli bridges. They released the SSC+ and FTW+ with an updated wiring schematic which made the sli bidges with lights function.

    Right now there is this one 1080 to step-up to in the EU:
    EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING, 08G-P4-6183-KR, 8GB GDDR5X, ACX 3.0 & LED - (08G-P4-6183-KR)
     
    So it seems from time to time they add cards that are not the most basic ones. Unfortunately, I think it is extremely unlikely that they will add a "FTW3" card to step-up to.
