sorry gotta rant Here, might not be the right place to do it, if not please forward to the correct area, after contacting EVGA about my 1070FTW , and finding out that buying a second hand card that is still under warranty, will the card well is not under warranty, form what i was just told on the phone with EVGA tech department . so looks like my folding days have come to a end and also looks like my days with EVGA is also ending .. Because from what i have been told before now, that buying a second hand card the warrenty would still be good and would cover any problems with the card. but that is not the case, or what i was just told .. sad too, liked EVGA stuff .. but with that i will no longer be folding for EVGA nor will i purchase any more EVGA products.. due to a warranty Issue, i jsut had, that will not be honored .. and with that i will no longer purchase Returns from AMAZON or NewEgg or even EVGA B stock items , because they offer a reduced pricing because it was returned .

If the card was over 3 years old, it would be out of warranty no matter who owned it before. The warranty if only good for 3 years from the date it left EVGA, and the 1070 line is very well into that timeframe where warranties will be completely run out. You would need to verify your serial number and remaining warranty with EVGA prior to purchase of any second hand product to verify how long it was covered down to the exact date of warranty expiration. While I understand that your frustration is with EVGA because it is an EVGA card, this applies to every single manufacturer. Your results would likely be the same. B-Stock and other refurbished product get a 1 year warranty, as shown in all of the terms prior to purchase.

Now scarlet that brings up a really good question? How did Ghost pay for the card? Visa has kicked butt for me big time, pulled money straight out of Dell's pocket because they mislead me on the quality of their product...8 months in on a laptop all money returned...Dell was choked. Question is what exactly has transpired?

i bought the card with Paypal Credit .. i reg the card thru EVGA, warranty that it says i still have is over 300+ days.. i got told one thing about second hand parts and the warranty was still good. but today i was told that being how the card was from 2016 the warranty is no good, i even told the tech, i bout the card from Newegg . his like sorry ... im like dang, i still have 300+ days on the warranty on my account .. to me if someone reg`s a product in there name and the information states, you have XXX days remaining on your warranty thru the items makers website, then what the warranty says during the time of reg`s of the the item or items. that is the time YOU have as a buyer of the product .. not from when the card was made and sent to the retailer .. thats to me is not good buisness. the retailer didnt reg`s the item , the buyer did.. and when the item was purchased and the buyer reg`s the item, then the warranty starts ..

Good point Ghost I recommend talking to someone with more decision making. If a customer is lead to believe that a warranty is valid, by the manufacturer, then it should be valid.

Did you purchase a used card from Newegg, or a new card? Your post is very confusing and going back and forth.
Used product is only 3 years from the date it shipped from the manufacturer. The place of purchase would have to provide anything over that.
A new product from an authorized reseller gets 3 years from the date of purchase.
If you bought from an unauthorized seller on Newegg, through Newegg marketplace, and registered the card, it would show the original warranty time until verified. There would be no reason for any manufacturer to go through every single account and verify receipts until the warranty is required.
So, did you purchase the card from an unauthorized reseller through Newegg marketplace or from Newegg.com directly? Your receipt will tell you which it is.
If you registered the card as coming from Newegg.com, and it wasn’t sold by Newegg, then the warranty will not show properly because the information input is incorrect.

well here is the dilo on the card. Ran fine, shut my system down, removed the card , done some work on the tubing, reinstalled the card. worked for a bit, the went black, it done it about for times. I shut the system all the way down, pulled the card, seen that the was some oil or something around the PCI`E area. grab the phone made the call, and the tech said that was normal its was thermal pad sweat. i know there is that, but this was way to much./ he looked up the card and my account, then goes that card is from 2016 and it was purchased 2019 from newegg as a gift. im like ya. he then says . second hand is not covered by a warranty. he then says, that warranty expired 2 months ago. im like thats not what the information on the evga account i have when i registered the card its says i have 300+ days left. i just looked and i think my information has been changed, i now for sure when i regs the card, it was 2019 and not 2016. and now it says 2016 . but the thing is they have the recpiet when i registered the card.. and it too says 2019 . i had to show proff i was the owner of the card.. here is the information now .. if its right then it in fact should read PURCHASE DATE 11/29/2019 . im sure if they dug up the copy of the sells recpet im sure they have on file. cause you have to copy that in order to reg the product it will show 2019 and not 2016 it does say invoice uploaded .. so they can go by that .. Place Purchased: gift Purchase Date*: 11/29/2016 Date Registered: 3/21/2019 4:43:25 AM now being how the card was registered 3/12/2019 the over site on my part is the fact that the PURCHASE date is in fact wrong. from some reason. so let me ask, if the card was registered on 3/22019 and a invoice was uploaded. that means and shows the date of the Purchase date .. i feel that when i input the information i had done so correctly, because when i checked on a warranty it showed me that i still had 300+ days left on my warranty, i wish i had taken a screen shot to prove it. then i can show that my information is in fact correct and the date had been changed. But there is a invoice that was uploaded at the time the card was registered . there for making either my mis in put of date of purchase invalid or showing that it was changed . with any and all products you have to show at the time the item is registered Proff off purchase, just like with my EVGA Z390 motherboard. the card was purchased AFTER i had purchased the GPU, before i purchased the 1070FTW, i was running a MSI 1060 in 2019 . so either i mis type the date of purchase or someone had changed it.. the uploaded invoice will show the date i in fact purchased the GPU .. Bought it from newegg used? I did not know they sold used cards, maybe refurb -RX that have a one year warranty. Go to newegg and look up your order and look and see what it says for warranty. And get the copy of the receipt. If it out of warranty, sell it as is for parts on ebay and pick up a new GPU?

all i can say is, The invoice is uploaded to EVGA . so i figured it was safer with them , then with me ... But here is the thing, i remember for a fact that is stated i had 300+ days left on warranty. when i checked before i made the call in .. and now it says i have nothing left . HMmm something is really kind of fishy .. to go from 300+ down to nothing .. but the invoice will show all the information that is needed, thats if EVGA wants to pull that information up. the card gets replaced or becomes a boat anchor, might be going back to the brand i used a while back. and sorry to say it wont be evga. Ill just have to wait and see what happens .. till then my intel parts are listed on EBAY.

When it comes to gifts if the gpu was not from a family member then the product would be considered as a second-hand purchase. You will not be the original owner as the invoice will have another persons name on it. That would make them the original owner, and not you. The remainder of the warranty will still transfer to you. Second-hand warranties start from when the card shipped from the evga warehouse.

also it was the tech that said i had purchased it from NEWEGG and said it was a gift .. me i purchased it from ebay , under my account name thru ebay. and i did upload a invoice during registration . you have to to check warranty status, and it should tell you if it is still under warranty or not. and it was still under warrenty . Im not saying a mis type or a wrong date i had done, i could of. But the invoice will show when it was registered and when in fact it was purchased and as to were i purchased it .. invoice is good other wise it wouldn`t have been excepted thru the system ..

I'm thinking he is saying he purchased the card from ebay but from newegg on ebay. If that is the case then the card should still have a full warranty.
