Hey Guys just set up me new system and having some issues could you guys walk me through some troubleshooting?
the sys:
z68 ftw
2x4gb sniper ddr3-1866
i7 2600k
gtx460 1gb
ocz agility 3 120gb
XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283

so the issue! Computer starts up and runs great temps great no overclock. I then went to shutdown win8 and when I hit the power button all lights go on fans spin up and nothing on monitor mouse and keyboard are dark and the post code "c" is shown. Then computer shuts off after a few seconds, then turns on again and same thing (post code "C") then computer stays on and just sits there. Then if I turn off the computer with power button and try again same thing. But I noticed if I cycled the power supply on/off switch until the blue led on mobo shuts off then cycle the psu power switch back to on and then hit the power button (on board or case) the computer boots up beautifully. I also noticed that sleep works fine as well as restart works fine. Kinda weird huh any ideas???

Not so wierd... I mean its wierd but not uncommon. I see this issue or some variant almost daily it seems.

Most common answer is reseat the CPU and try to relax the heatsink mounting a little.

Common causes for POST code C:
    • If a hand tightened CPU cooler try loosening the fasteners to see if this is the issue.
    • Check the CPU socket for bent pins that may have occurred during the installation.
    • Check the Power Supply to make sure the connections are solid and that it is working properly.
    • Check for any pieces of metal from the case that might be making contact with the board.

I agree with Michael's comment. Try a different power supply. Both my original and replacement Z68 FTW boards had a similar issue; no boot and only post code "C." All components expect the MB were from a functional ASUS P67 system. EVGA tech support kept pointing towards the CPU seating and socket. In the end, the problem was found to be the Z68 FTW simply will not power-up using my Thermaltake ATX 12.3 supply (yet the same supply functions well with ASUS and MSI mb's and is operating in-spec.) I purchased a Coolermaster for the Z68 FTW and it appears to work well. Given this issue and eVGAs recently released Z68 FTW R16 firmware, I have to wonder what I was thinking when I decided to purchase the eVGA MB. Dealing with such buggy issues is simply not worth the hassle. The Z68 FTW is going to become my linux test box.

I know this is an old thread - but I just tried to use a Straightpower 10 800W supply with this board - no dice - POST code C.  Tried a second supply hoping I had a bad one - still no POST C.
