Was reading through the x99 classy manual and saw this "POST Codes This section provides the AMI POST Codes for the EVGA X99 Dark Motherboard during system boot up. The POST Codes are displayed on the Debug LED"

Does an x99 dark exist?

Oh my... that was an edit I missed when I made it, sorry about that.  Some of the sections were copied from the X79 Dark then modified rather than making it from scratch when a lot of the info was the same.  Not sure how I missed that, and that no one pointed it out before now.

HAHA!. I was hoping you would say it was an easter egg and there will be an x99 Dark.

I hope the reason for the X79 Dark's existence was due to the fact that EVGA ROYALLY dropped the ball with the first set of X79s. It had so many problems, most of which (specifically USB 3) were never resolved.

FWIW, the sound card issues seem to be mostly resolved for the current X99 boards, and the RAID controller compatibility problems they don't care about (which is a shame). I'm not aware of any other glaring issues, and the original X79 problems make the known issues seem fairly tame.

I have not used the x99 classy in a few months, since like January. But was going to install it next week in a new build. I remember it having some USB compatibility issues at first but was unaware of any others. I use an external DAC/AMP so maybe i missed the sound issues but I never had a problem building a simple raid with two drives.

I hope any other issues are resolved or why would anyone use it? To have known issues that will not be fixed would be bad customer service and a bad business model and a reason for return. I don't think that is the case as EVGA still sells the board new.

is there a list somewhere of known issues?  I would hate to install it and hook up all the water cooling and find later that something does not work

And if that is the case then I will ask for a return or exchange and if that doesnt work..... ill post it for sale in the forums and buy a different board that is reliable and well supported.

Yep same, ASUS is going to have my business with that new Rv10 if the Classified doesn't come out soon! I almost went and preordered it today even. I really hope they have something really exciting to reveal!

This is why I think it's key they should add a OC Socket to the X99 Dark. But unless we can raise support, it won't happen from what I've been told :(.

It would be my guess if not even a hint of a Dark or a new revision of the Classified has been sniffed out at this point, there won't be one at this time.
As for the OC socket, is it really a difference maker?

There were hints of a X99 revision a while back but I believe that was pre Micro 2 and obviously FTW K.  For all we know, they were referring to those boards but I wouldn't put it to bed just yet.  Let's see what happens in Computex 2016 as it's on going right now as we speak.

Yes, OC Socket mainly matters for Haswell-E and Uncore freq. It's a big performance gain.

I don't expect the announcement right now, maybe in a month or two. Then release in 2-4 months also. Maybe even a soft launch with the announcement. But I can confirm it is in development. So this is basically last call for OC Socket requests (which I believe should be called eClock Socket :P).

I have wondered the same. At least a block for the Mosfet/power, but yes, it would be great see a water block for the X99 Classified. I believe if EKWB gets enough requests (interest), they will make it. Submit your desire to have a block made to EK.
There is also a person here at the forums who makes some blocks for EVGA boards.

I agree, but so far Dark series has been the last hurrah of the chipset from EVGA. I would probably get a RV10 if it wasn't for ASUS's terrible customer service and lack of warranty options. I can't really look away from EVGA much because of the long warranty options. Considering I still have some products with lifetime warranty on them.

I have with EK. I wasnt given a reason. I assume its not enough units have sold or something I am sure they are expensive to R and D and produce.  I have seen the user here that makes them but There would have to be about ten people (from what I understand) willing to put a deposit to make it worth his while. The board is getting closer to end of life and I would possibly upgrade by the time he was able to produce them anyway.  This is one of the reasons people I know by the A**s boards. EK puts the blocks out for there stuff often before release. for example the new Rampage and Strixx x99 boards

At this point, for EKWB, it is more about profitability than enthusiasts. The size of their business dictates, to sustain and continue to grow, they must achieve "$X" of positive cash flow. This is more likely to happen if they produce water blocks for huge market shares like ASUS and Gigabyte than other player in the motherboard market who produce smaller numbers.

If enthusiasts prefer other brands, we either have to depend on small business to custom make blocks or home make some sort of rigging. It would be nice to see a custom maker across the motherboard business. If a person spread the word among the various online communities, it could be possible.

I don't expect the announcement right now, maybe in a month or two. Then release in 2-4 months also. Maybe even a soft launch with the announcement. But I can confirm it is in development. So this is basically last call for OC Socket requests (which I believe should be called eClock Socket :P).

Well that's no good, way too far off, other vendors all have their new boards out now at Computex(ASUS,MSI,etc). Looks like RV10 instead, oh well...

Rampage V 10th Edition is INCREDIBLE....
Board is ... no comment... With USB Flash 8GB and all drivers, tools inside,
ASUS CPU Installation Tool preventing bending pins, OC Socket for Cache Frequency OC
switches for deactive PCIE x16 pass through lanes,
switches for deactivating unused memory slots,
perfect I/O Port shield, flat with port protector...
4x USB 3.0 on back side,
    2x USB 3.1 Type A, 2x USB 3.1 Type C,
two Intel LAN, 218-V and 211at,
    Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0,
    PCI-E x1, PCI-E x4 and 4xPCI-E x16 Safe Reinforced slots for graphic cards
    4pin AURA RGB Strip Header
Safe Button, Mem OK Button, Retry Button, Start Button, Restart Button
10x SATA III Ports I saw only Intel SATA driver
    M.2 Utra speed, U.2 NVMe
    Supreme FX Hi-Fi

BOARD IS CRAZY! Details on PCB, heatsinks, options, softwares,... I'm hypnotized.
I would kiss that board day and night, day and night.

I would measure these Black fonts and shield and give to some office to build plastic silver fonts same as Supreme FX and stick over black fonts.
