I am finally sick of dealing with the power supply compatibility issue between my x79 Dark and Seasonic 1050.  I was looking at the EVGA SuperNOVA 1050 GS (220-GS-1050-V1) but I saw that this was manufactured by Seasonic, would I have the same problem as my current seasonic where I can only power on the PC after is has sat with the power supply switched off for ~8 hours.

If it were me wondering this, I would call EVGA support directly and let them tell me specifically if it will or won't work...

You're welcome.

Once you get the "official" word on this, maybe you could post back EVGA's answer.  I'm curious and it may help others at some point.

This is the response that received from an technical support ticket sent to EVGA, I can conclude from this that I need to avoid the PSU mfg by seasonic... Or replace my MB. Interestingly either they think my Seasonic 1050 is a 850 Watt PSU, or based on my pc load out I should go with a 850 Watt option.

"Hello,

If you would like to stay in the 850 watt range I would highly recommend the EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 Power Supply.
Part Number: 220-G2-0850-XR

The 850 G2 is produced by Superflower and is outstanding.

Regards,
EVGA"

The 850W G2 is a great PSU.  Here's one of several reviews.  This from JonnyGURU  >>  http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=377
If you aren't really pushing your CPU & GPU clocks hard, the 850W mentioned would be a good PSU based on your sig.  But if you prefer extra headroom (I always do) the 1000W G2 is another good PSU produced by Superflower.  Review  >>   http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=346

10 year warranty as well.

Ended up going with the 1000w G2, as after rebate it was the same price as the 850 G2 and overhead with the water cooling I have in there.   Hopefully this all ends up working out.

Barring some unforseen defect with the PSU itself, I have no doubt you'll be happy with that choice...  Enjoy!!

No idea yet, it's in a box waiting for my new water cooling parts to come in / be found. I was gaming Sunday with my seasonic and the pc just shut down. Powered off the psu and heard a breaker trip. I figured while it's down might as well change the loop fluid and hoses.

Finally got my loop updated and the 1000 G2 installed.  Booted right up, did several re-starts with no issues.  Time will tell if my problem truly is gone or not, but so far it is working fine.
