Hello,

I recently bought second hand x58 classified E760 rev 1.0 from another user.
My CPU is westmere x5650 so I modded my board to support x5650.
I think it seems working (showing x5650 is installed at POST screen) but I faced memory problem.
Only two DIMM slots can be used out of 6 DIMM slots.
When I install six 4GB DIMMs, only 8GB is recognized.
And board will suffer from infinite boot loop if I install one DIMM to DIMM1 slot.
Another problem discovered is, it will stuck at turned on state without any POST code when exit from BIOS setting screen.
Reset and power switches are not working when it falls to this state.
I'm wondering that this memory problems are caused by westmere modding.
I followed this modding instruction.

I used working CPU and DIMMs from another PC so there is no problem with these parts.
Can anyone help me to solve these issues?
Thank you.

Well if the memory and cpu are all working in a second computer properly first thing I would do is take out the cpu and look at the socket closely for any bent/damaged pins under good light. If all appears well with the socket, check components around where you performed the mod to make sure the heat didn't loosen any pads or create any odd looking/cracked solder joints.

Also, make sure your bios is up to date.
