I take it you downloaded v5.3.6 PX. You could try the version before that -- v5.3.5 --> http://forums.videocardz.com/topic/1207-evga-precisionx-535/

You could also try MSi Afterburner --> http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/msi-afterburner-beta-download.html

    Hope one of them helps

The update (newest) version can cause instability in cases. To fix the issue either download the last version or MSI Afterburner.

I had this happen to me yesterday... Played Diablo 3 on 4K DSR, no issues... launched Precision X, turned on the overlay, so I can monitor temps etc. and the game crashed on startup... same with CS:GO :(

Pretty sure it's the overlay itself. I had issues when the new Precision X first came out and 8.1.....a few months ago. Playing any EA game would crash instantly. Only thing that worked was turning the overlay off.
I did notice again after upgrading Windows 10. My games were crashing again.....but all games this time. I noticed the over lay was on, after upgrading to v5.3.6. I turned off the overlay and no problems since.
The EA bug was worked out, after a couple of updates of Precision X. Back on 8.1 when i was having the issues.

Im not at home currently so I can't test. I currently have the steam version so it should be up to date though.

I think the best workaround currently is MSI Afterburner though.
