Both are some really Old Graphics Cards. If you only have the choice of 1 or 2 above then go with the 650 with 2GB of memory
List your current computer for other to help you pick the best card.

+1 on 580! just make sure you have enough juice from the power supply, and your case can take such a long card.

He say and maybe something other...
How much you want to spend on graphic card?
GTX580 is excellent card, I keep one for back up and it's fantastic for some older games... but and newer could be played...
Alan Wake, Assassins Creed first 2-3 parts, Borderland, Borderlands 2, Battlefield 2 and 3, Crysis 1 and 2... many many games could be played and newer on lower settings. For GTX580 need at least 40A 600W PSU (250W for graphic card).

As mentioned it is difficult to recommend any choice without knowing your full PC specs.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

The 580 is a good card, although if you can afford a 980, I would go for that.

Anyone who wrote 650 means he can only spend that much. He, without a doubt is getting a 580, used, in that price range and you and XrayMan suggested a GPU 4 times more expensive.

    Common sense.
