Hello,

i'm considering to put my cards on water. I'm looking at the EKWB blocks. Can anyone tell me if these blocks on the list match? I know the answer, but want a 2nd answer as well. I'm wanting to purchase them from ekwb. When I went to use the configurator, they gave some of the below results. If you guys have any other suggestions please tell me.

some of them were:
EK-FC980 GTX
EK-FC980 GTX - Acetal
EK-FC980 GTX - Nickel

I assume that you are running multiple cards and they are the 04G-P4-2981? You also want to liquid cool and want the water blocks on the cards to match?

All three of those are the same concerning how they mount to the card. The difference between the two clear blocks in the heat sink material one being copper the other being nickle plated. That black one is copper, but they also have a nickle plated version. The clear blocks only partially cover the card, while the black block is extended to fully cover the card. Both the full coverage and partial coverage blocks have the same active cooling area.

+1 As long as they are the reference board, should be good to go. I have the black acetal FC-980 blocks and EK back plates, and they are great.

Edit: JoshT, see you joined a year ago, but don't post a lot, wanted to welcome you to the forums and thank you for the great answer.

Thanks for the replies guys. they are not the standard PCB from Nvidia, but from EVGA (ACX/evga reference cards). I do remember some threads a while ago saying that waterblocks from ekwb wouldn't work, but when I ran the configurator on their website, it gave me a list of waterblocks that would fit. The ones I provided in first post were some of which they provided would work. This is why I'm a little confused right now. So, those ones above should work? I Just don't want to buy them seeing they don't work. Yes, I will be running 3 cards soon. So, am looking to liquid cool, and do want them all to match.

Yeah, card makers like to do that. Start out with a Nvidia reference design, then tweak it to make their own design. Can create some confusion.

If you looked up your model number on the EK configurator and it lists those water blocks, you can pretty well bet that it will fit. If the other cards are a different part number, look them up and verify that same model of water block will fit.

What cards are you running ,so we can compare. I have a pair of 2983's 980 SC ACX, and the Acetal one fits just fine. And a serial connector makes it nice.

Once you find out whether or not they fit... Personally, I prefer the clear tops so that you can see the health of the water block easily without draining the loop, removing the water block, and taking the water block all apart. It makes the difference between a minute and a hour when inspecting for corrosion, fiber/debris blockage, or fungus.

My part #s are: 04G-P4-2981-KR

Those cards are compatible with our EK-FC980 GTX block.  All you need to choose is weither you want copper or nickel block and acetal or plexi top.
