ugprade Z87 to Z97?

Hi everyone,
I've been an EVGA fan since 2008 and always build my PCs on EVGA stuff because of the great quality and support, including 790i Ultra SLI, Z68ftw, Z77ftw, and currently on Z87Class.
I've been lurking around here for a while and would like some advice here;
I have a 4790K, 16gig Corsair vengance 2133 1.5v ram, evga 780 Ti classified (750Ti dedicated physx), Force GT 240Gig SSD, all on the Z87 Classified.
I was interested in getting the new Intel 750 SSD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167300&cm_re=intel_750-_-20-167-300-_-Product
but I see that only the Z97 has NVMe support for it... so whats up? is it a hardware thing? will there be a BIOS update that enables this feature? has anyone tried NVMe on a Z87? or should I buy the Z97 MoBo to upgrade my SDD? any other cost effective solutions/ideas?

    Hi Kona500! 
     
    At this moment there is no talk about a BIOS update for the Z87 chipset that will provide support for NVMe devices which would be the most cost effective option for you. It may be a better idea to wait on upgrading your system to a newer architecture.

    Congrats. I hope board will serve you well.
    That's nicest motherboard on the world...
    I'm really happy only when EVGA hardware is inside my PC, everything else is just to work nice, no visual satisfaction.
    If EVGA work good that's complete enjoyment.
    You should change graphic card only on EVGA GTX980Ti and connect with custom loop.

    No one can't say that this motherboard is not nicest motherboard ever made.
     

     
    She is perfect, only need 2x GTX980Ti or 2xGTX980 or 2x TITAN X depend of budget.

    So I got my Z97 Classified and the new Intel 750 PCIe card... but the MoBo has a x1 slot and the card is x4... Did I just blow $600 for nothing? what is going on here!

    LOL... PCIe x16 is compatible with all other PCI down to x1.. Put it in a x16 slot. Simple enough.

    thanks guys :) feel kinda dumb, but I got it figured out and up and running great!!
