I recently started having random screen artifacts while just at idle then it turned into a instant full screen artifact after logging into windows, I called EVGA they said RMA the card so I did, the card I got back did the same thing. EVGA said nothing was wrong with the card I sent in and told me to check my PSU 12v readings, at idle it's fluctuating from 12.21 up to 12.41. Does this seem like it would be the cause? I just want some input before I buy a new PSU, thanks!

Those 12v ratings are good, don't see a problem with the PSU.

    I would try the following:
    • Make sure you have the latest video drivers from Nvidia.
    • If you have the latest drivers, try older versions.
    • Flash your motherboard BIOS to the latest version.
    • Reformat

    Intel i9 10900K
    MSI MEG Z490 ACE
    ASUS TUF RTX 3090
    32GB G.Skill Trident Z Royal 4000MHz CL18
    SuperFlower Platinum SE 1200w

Those were software temps, I'll need to get a volt meter, I've never updated my BIOS so I'll try that!

Flashing the BIOS fixed the issue or the just the new BIOS is working?

It has fixed the problem, I played a few games last night and everything seems fine. It used to corrupt the screen right after I entered my password at the login screen, I'm hoping this was the problem. Thanks guys!

Ok so I found that if I use a aero theme after I reboot it will cause artifacts after logging in, but with the basic theme it works fine. I should probably reformat.

OK, I kept having the issue off and on, just reformatted and the problem is continuing. I got another power supply from a friend and it did it again. I assume this leaves the motherboard as the problem.

I RMA'd the card after this first started happening, they sent me another card and it immediately did the same thing, EVGA also said the card I sent them passed all their tests.

MSI just confirmed it was my motherboard. Also if I were you I would stay far away from MSI. Their customer support is a complete joke.

That sucks, yep... I quit messing with MSI when it fried my FX5950 back a while ago. It literally went up in smoke, decided I would never go back to MSI ever since then.

Did you ever test that card? A friend spilled a mixed drink in my PC about 5 months ago and upon cleaning it for 10+ hrs it worked flawlessly at my old apartment for months.. I used alcohol, Q-tips, and paper towels.

I recently moved and about a week ago I started having artifacts, randomly at first in Diablo 3, which grew into every time right on boot-up after login. I reformatted and got it semi stable at Windows 7 Non-Aero and can play Diablo sometimes.. YouTube causes instant artifacts now, when a day ago it did not, as well as FurMark when it did not a few days ago. All artifacts require a reboot :(

My WIFI has been spotty as well, right after moving. Ive tried multiple adapters and no go.

Im trying to determine if it is my graphics or motherboard.. I own a BFG GTX 280 and EVGA x58. I threw an old 7800 GTX in but it wouldnt boot.
