Will my powersupply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341010) have any problems with a 580? It seems that I'll have to use the adaptors to turn 2x6 pin plus 2xmolex into a 6 pin and an 8 pin.
Thanks

Its hard to say.  You do have the min required but if your going to fold then it might be close.

    Requirements
Minimum of a 600 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 42 Amps.)

Are you folding cpu too?  If so then I'm going to say no it won't be enough psu for your set up.

Yeah I fold on my Q6600, although I could just stop folding on it until I can upgrade my PSU. I only have one pci-e slot so I'll have to take out my 9800 GTX too, but I'm sure the 580 will be a significant improvement over my old setup.
Is there a safe way to test? Look at voltages while folding?

I would say for folding you would be really stressing that PSU.  I looked at the +12 rail and it only has 18 Amps, so it doesnt look like it can handle a 580.

I'd still get the 580 if I were you, but as far as I know your psu couldn't handle the load for very long even if it had enough amps.

I was hoping it was the total of the 12v rails. Does anybody know?
