This is my very first "Mod Rig" but not my first build. I decided a to start my first mod build about a month ago. I was only planning on making minor upgrades on some parts I had acquired over the past 6 months. My upgrade was going to be based on the LGA 775 platform and included a EVGA 790i, new memory, a second GTX 260, Corsair 850TX, and a new case.
Well as you might guess one thing led to another blah blah. THEN the Sandy Bridge was released and I was pleasantly surprised at the prices of the CPU's and motherboards. Once again, one thing led to another and it just so happened that a friend of mine was interested in buying (at the time) my current computer with the planned upgrades of course. Well let me tell you the wheels REALLY started turning then. I tell you the timing couldn't have been more perfect. Much to the dismay of my wife. lol
woops!

Performing some minor mods: Prepping one of the 260's for paint.
Prepped side panel for custom window.
After.
I was feeling brave and decided to do my own custom sleeving using paracord. btw worked very well. I did a couple of test runs on a spare PSU. I sleeved the 6 pins and 8 pin. I skipped the 24 pin. From beginning to end this mod took over a month. So needless to say I grew restless. So sue me.
Just got the Lian Li back from powder coating. As usual the pics don't do it justice. Lighting and camera flash make it look lighter than it really is. The chassis was painted Pepsi Blue and smaller interior components were painted black for contrast. Some of the pics without flash show the true color.
Finished cased with all of it's panels.
Had to make a couple of motherboard panel modifications and final prep for assembly.
GRRR ! Wire management. Not my strong point but this is by far my best job to date.
End results:
Thank you's go out to : YouTube's WestCoastMod's, MNPCtech, Cyberdruid, tjharlow. For all my inspirations. I couldn't have done this without them.
I hope you all enjoyed my very first mod rig build log.
Upgrades to come:
2x EVGA GTX 460
Genital Typhoon fans for the H50
Give me a +1 on my Mod Rig's page.
