its not stable as when i run linpack 20000 process for 3 runs my computer locks up and I get a bsod about 30 seconds in i am new to all this core i7 overcloking and have no idea if my setting are correct so far i know I need to raise my core volts but other then that have no idea if I need to change anything else plz help

ok I did what u siad and this is what I have it at now I had to riase the cpu volts as it would lock up on me at the windows start up logo i am going to test it with linpack to see what happens let me know if I should change something now that i rasied my cpu vlots thanks for the help by the way

yea its stable I know this as i ran 30 runs of linx at 20000 and ran memorytest x86 for 2 hous at stock setting and its perfect at that setting

First of all, are you just trying to get 4ghz stable? Try this...up your DIMM voltage to 1.65 then try 191 for your BLCK and 21x on your cpu multiplier... Keep your volts right where they are and lets see if you can get it fairly stable and we will go from there.

I think the best way is to see how far you can go on auto voltage on everything except ram, set to MFR specs, and 2:8. The wrong way to go is simply set voltages blindly and hope they work cause that's where you want them to be or somebody said set them there. You have to learn what your components do together.

ok well so far the highest I have been able to go at all stock voltage is 3.840mhz it l pass linx 5 test at 20000 so guess its stable or run a longer test ? so now what

Now up the vcore a couple notches and see how far that will get you. EDIT: settings below look good. these 2 set to less **CPU Impedance ( Auto ) **QPI Signal Compensation ( Auto ) and go a head and raise these 2 **VTT PWM Frequency ( 250 KHZ ) **CPU PWM Frequency ( 800 KHZ ) sure is not going to hurt anything.

ok I applyed the setting u told me to and rised my cpu 2 notches to 162 and I got BSOD about 30 sec in I also saw one of my cores temps went all the way to 75c
