Hi, folks.  Can you please tell me what causes this? I posted this in another thread, not sure the best place for it.  But it's driving me crazy.  I have a single core at 2.66 which I know is not enough, but I never used to have this bad a problem with lag.
 
Playing COD, the lagometer has gobs of tall red spikes.  It also has very wide yellow band, about 1/4th the height of the box.  Playability is worse than awful.

    a single core of what? i assume a i7 other wise you would be posting in a different area.. so the other 3 cores disabled?

    anyways. im guessing you didnt get help in the right thead.

    so what CPU are you running and what are your other system specs?

    Also add which version of cod you are playing?

    Zalman 9700 for cpu

    I think that is more related to your internet connection personally, do a ping/tracert to the server and see if your getting any packet loss or high ping fluxing on a certain node.  Try a different server, or even call your ISP.
