I'm hoping to make a list of the better places to shop online, besides all the usual suspects. I've found some gems buried deep in the internet. So deep, google can't find them (because google panders to their sponsors). Also it would be helpful to site stores who've disappointed. So if you are going to post here, please post stores where you've found great prices, selection, service, and say what type of goods the store carries best. Also post about stores where you've found terrible prices, selection, and service. Or rebut a post about a store, because second chances and second opinions should be had by all.
Great Stores: Newegg.com (naturally): excellent prices, selection, and service. Really a 1 stop shop. Not always the lowest price, but they have huge supplies of great variety, and an excellent website. (1 stop shop)
Tigerdirect.com (of coarse); much like Newegg, though their prices aren't as good and their website lacks the same polish. (1 stop shop)
Outletpc.com; Fantastic find. Really great prices on both goods and shipping (cheapest I've found for the most part). Their hardware selection is poor. Adequate webpage, great store. (mod accessories)
Directron.com; decent prices, good selection, great service. One can tell they are really trying to be competitive in the marketplace. (1 stop shop)
Antarespro.com; Terrible webpage design, and the shipping rates are a scam, but they make up for it with the cheapest prices. (fans and accessories)
Amazon; (added by toe_crusher) great prices, shipping, and service. Worth looking (1stop shop)
eVGA; (added by XrayMan); great hardware and prices. Excellent customer service by really hot chicks
Danger Den; (added by Falcon_CMH) (1stop shop with emphasis on mod gear and cooling)
PerformancePC; (added by Falcon_CMH) (1 stop shop)
Koolance; (added by Falcon_CMH) (cooling)
Xoxide.com; (added by rankin) (1stop shop with an emphasis on lighting)
Microcenter; (added by str1d3r) only store here I know of that has stores you can visit IRL. competitive prices and 18 minute pickup (1stop shop)
HeatsinkFactory.com; (added by SR1945) (cooling)
UltimatePCcooling.com; (added by SR1945) (cooling)
CrazyPC.com; (added by SR1945) (mods and cooling)
Petrastechshop.com; (added by fbmbirds) "is a good site. i bought my first waterblocks from them." (cooling?)
jab-tech.com; (added by fbmbirds) "bought alot of CHEAP stuff from them i mean cheap i got a coolermaster 850watt for like 150 bucks back in 2008. i mean those things were going for 250+" (1stop shop?)
Provantage; (added by heymike_s) (1stopshop)
NCIX; (added by brunions) (1stop shop emphasis on Canadians ah)
BestDirect; (added by brunions) (1stop shop emphasis on Canadians ah)
Sidewindercomputers.com; (added by klutzy) "Great store to deal with. Almost a 1-stop-shop, but maybe more of a mod-shop. Prices are competitive and the customer service has been great. " (1stop shop)
MountainMods; they sent my stuff out right away but they used a UPSfreight and it took forever. (mods)
Newark.com; (added by boredgunner) "Industrial supplier. Great for bulk ordering. Excellent source for high end Sanyo Denki fans for a good price. Please note that connectors are not included - just bare leads so you must solder the wires to a connector but this is easy. Their site isn't the quickest to navigate, so I'll make it easier for you. Click
here to find their 120mm x 25mm fans, click
here for their 120mm x 38mm fans and click
here for their 140mm fans." (accessories)
MPJA Online; (added by boredgunner) "Another industrial supplier for rare fans including Nidec fans. Great prices, again only bare leads." (accessories)
Onlinecomponents.com; (added by boredgunner) "All kinds of crap, but I only use them as a source for
Delta fans at a good price. They're the only supplier that has a
Delta 140mm x 38mm fan and it is the highest RPM model available. Once again, they're industrial supplier so you will only get bare lead fans. Great for bulk ordering." (accessories)
Pricecanada.com; (added by orcryst) "...(some parts are not listed on PC so be sure to check newegg and Bestdirect) happy shopping canadian fellows!" (1stop shop emphasis on Canadian ah)
SVC.com; (added by geek32) (mods, accessories, and cooling)
Infonec ; (added by NazcaC2) (1stop shop emphasis on Canadian ah)
DirectCanada ; (added by NazcaC2) (1stop shop emphasis on Canadian ah)
Lack-Luster Stores: FrozenCPU; Their prices are highish. I'd only deal with them for cooling gear. They've cost some folks their rigs due to shotty sleeving jobs. (cooling) Tigerdirect.com; for their rebate racket
Provantage; for refusal to refund
Really is hard for me to remember stores that have given me bad experiences.
