It took 40 years, but my first ever Evga is finally here.
GTX 580 OC Black Ops

I will install it first, see little bit results, specially heat and fans. Then doing TIM Replacement and seeing the effects.

Thank You Evga

Also a new mouse, Roccat Kone+

Happy gaming! I went from a 8800GTX to the 580 and was instantly blown away too. Being able to max Shattered Horizons and have silky smooth framerates was amazing.

Just a little Heaven 2.1 run
for comparing to Sapphire 5870 Vapor-X CROSSFIRE:

    so almost same

weird thing... I started to play BFBC2, and it crashed after a few minutes... hmmmm.... Enemy Territory.... CIV 5 were working absolutely fine. And that was stock clocks.

is the nvidia picture quality still much better?

I used ati a long time ago but was unsatisfied with the headaches the drivers were and also the way 3d objects looked rendered compared to nvidia equivalent since then I've stuck with nvidia.

I must say, after 8 months being with good Radeon cards (NOT reference ones), I still was stunned today when my comp first started after nVidia driver installation. I had to call my friend, and my exact words were.... "seems like I finally got Full HD quality on my Full HD monitor". Simply much better.

I just bought those Sapphire 5870´s cos simply I wasnt satisfied with 4xx -series. And that was 8 month period only. Now back with the Card, and my firstever Evga.

The one absolutely fantastic thing was with Sapphire 5870 Vapor-X cards. They were dead silent.

Which TIM are you going to use? Also, what is that 10 year warranty on the box? Isn't it lifetime?

    Always IC Diamond Carat.

Here in Europe, its 2+8 years. I think thats enough lifetime for any computer part .

Didn't know you were in Europe. Hopefully Shane puts back the Location under our Avatars soon. I never tried IC Diamond. I may try that when I get the 580. Anyways, I'm sure you will enjoy that card.    :)
