Hi Guys I have just did a bios upgrade to version 77 on my E760, loaded bios defaults before, did the upgrade, reset cmos. Now on post screen after detecting the drives it hangs and says : CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded Press F1 to continue or DEL to enter bios. at this point the board gives me a F7 error code, I can't press F1 or DEL, as my keyboard (logitech G15) isn't working, strange is that when i plug a memory stick into the keyboards hub I see the status led on the stick flickering, so I assume the KB is powered.. Anyone got this problem too ? What for options do I have ? Have removed all drives, reseated ram, cpu, gpu. doesn't matter what I do, I get this annoying error. I haven't tried a PS2 Keyboard yet as I don't have one, or an adaptor for the usb KB. Any help would be great.

PS2 keyboard or adapter is probably your best bet. Perhaps something with wrong with the USB initialization.

Hmmm, i actually noticed the same issue. WEll, till i switched to an Eclipse anyway. It might be because of the leds or something simple. What i did was switch the usb port it was in and press del like there was no tomorrow. Worked about half the time, i just decided to plug in an old one after being frustrated and had no issues.

well, if i get no fix soon then it will be a good excuse for me to get a new mother board... thinking ASUS rampage III extreme or another classifed... we'll see. probably go back to asus since that was my first brand i started with and never had an issue with them.

Well, did you try any other USB keyboard? Like others have said, the logitech keyboard has had issued with this. Before going to the extreme of a new motherboard, try a cheap usb keyboard ("borrow" one from a friend, or frys)

yeah just tried with another usb keyboard and nothing...It sucks cause i now know that 7F means waiting for me to re-enter CPU setting in the CMOS, but i can't cause my damn keyboards don't work. i don't feel like spending more money on another high end board, i'm just probably going to trade my GTX 580 for a ASUS Rampage III Gene and couple of 460s.. or something. at this point its the only way.. anyways thanks man for the help. im so damn tired... 6am and no sleep yet... lol damn it.

I like to say if the current BIOS works well don't upgrade to a newer one unless you HAVE to for a 980X CPU. I still run the BIOS my board came with which is the SZ something i think and for 11 months haven't had any issues running at 4.2ghz 24/7.

uelreq buy a asus board if you want and next week i will see you over there maken the same post becouse the g15 and g19 for some off the wall reson dont detect on most mainboard bios. buy a 5.00 keyboard and move on okay, borrowed 4 USB Keyboards. Rosewill,Dell,Logitech, and microsoft. and none of them light up or register whats soever. P/S 2 didnt need to get cause i got 6 of them... tested all of them and nothing. except that with the P/S 2 keyboard when i turn the motherboard on, it lights up once for less then a second, then a second time when get into the CMOS checksum error screen. and no matter how many times i spam DEL, and F1 it just doesn't work. Also swapped CPUs A D0 with a C0 and nothing. Replaced the bios battery and nothing, replaced all the sata cables and nothing, swapped 4 hard drives, and nothing, tested with 3 PSUs and nothing, tested with 1 gig memory sticks, Corsair, G.skill, OCZ,and Kingston and nothing, tested on every dim slot nothing.disconnected all other hardware execpt kb and nothing. perhaps maybe i can still salvage this beautiful mother board one day, i'm not giving up yet. other then that man.. thank you for your advice.

Couldn't you contact EVGA and request a new bios chip or RMA the board?

Did this for someone over the weekend and the Logitech G15 keyboard works fine. Only thing I could say with this is that it's probably not the BIOS.
