    only 2500 on release date from EVGA? What happen to the paper launch? Looks like Nvidia learned from their horrific mistake last "Launch". This is good for all of us!!!!
     
    This is looking got be a really good winter if they actually physically release Nov 9th 2010....

    That was on the Extreme preset by the way.  I'm guessing the release is going to be like the GTX 480 and GTX 470.  People will have to keep an eye on retailers for them and end up waiting for them to restock.

    It's a good thing I didn't buy the Z-5500 speakers today like I was going to. Now I can use the money for the 580 card, and of course Black Ops.   :)

    Thanks for that info.  This also helps the lower end Fermi's in price.  Hmm looks like maybe more 460's or maybe a 470 in my wakes if this pans out right!

    Not until the refresh for that comes out.  But the 6870 caused a major price drop for it.  They can easily be picked up for almost as low as $250 these days.  The GTX 460s have already been going down in price due to the release of the AMD 6850 and 6870.

    It says on that website that Evga will get 2500 of these cards on Nov. 9th. Is it the sample cards they are getting? They just test the sample cards, or what?

    Samples refers to review samples.  You'll see reviews on the GTX 580 shortly after November 9.  EVGA will be getting 2,500 cards on November 9 and hopefully you'll be able to get them that day.

    I'm tempted to email Evga marketing and request Black ops be bundled with it. Worth a try anyway. What do you think?

    Looks like another refresh and rebrand, I hope it is not base on fermi but a whole new architecture. If so I then consider selling my two 5870's
