Finally got into the SSD world!  System right now isn't even overclocked and it feels like 4GHz+.

Anyway, this post is to compare the two controllers against each other in performace, as well as the Marvell firmware update performance results.

Corsair SandForce F120 :: Intel AHCI (RST 10.0.0.1046, Stock Firmware)

Corsair SandForce F120 :: Marvell AHCI (1.0.0.1042, Stock Firmware)

Corsair SandForce F120 :: Marvell AHCI IDE (1.0.0.1042, Firmware 1.0.0.1027)

These benchmarks were run on a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 running all of the latest drivers available.  The OS was re-installed after updating the Marvell firmware.

Yeah, I thought that the Marvell controller would be faster since it can handle SATA3 speeds.

Just discovered that after the firmware update it switched the Marvell controller to IDE mode.  So far I can't find an option to set it back to AHCI again.

Thanks for that tip, always wondered how that was done.  Though I can't seem to find an option within the Marvell ROM menus that allows me to change the SATA mode from IDE to AHCI.
