So, I got a GT430 yesterday and stuck it into my HTPC and started folding right away. It is running at stock clocks, as shown, and there is nothing else running to use up resources. This is on Win7 Ult 64 and using jedi95's GPU Tracker V2 program. I was actually hoping I would get at least one 611 pointer for comparison, but it looks like we either chewed them all up or they got removed because of all the failures. Without further ado, here is a SS of what I have gotten so far.

.
Maybe a little more ado...hehehe

Remember, this is a GT430, so 96 shaders, 1400 memory clock (only one in stock @ EVGA.com right now), and $79.99 ($69.99 after $10 MIR).
.
http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=01G-P3-1430-LR

.
Are you ready?

.
Pretty darn good for the price so far.
.
.
.
EDIT:
.
.
.
Ran for a bit OCed to 800, 1600, 700 (1400 eff.) and got these results.
.

.
.
Currently testing for the max OC that I can get.
.
.
Stay Tuned!
.
.
.
Preliminary Update:
Max stable OC I could get was 820, 1640, 775 (1550 eff.) on 0.990V (Stock - could not adjust).
First wu (11255 [912 pts.]), at 45% completion, is showing 8755.2 PPD in HFM.
.
.
Second wu (10951 [925pts.]), at 40% completion, is showing 9402.35 PPD in HFM.
.
.
SS coming when more wu are completed.
.
.
.
And the verdict is.......
.
.

.
.
....so far.
.
.
I will update if/when this card picks up anything other than a 912 or 925 wu.
.
.
.
Well, got a bunch of 611s completed, so adding the SS.
.
.

You make me want to go and buy one right now! 7k+ PPD is very impressive for a card like this, my 280 averaged the same on gpu2 but with temps over 70C and 3-4x the power draw.

I will either find a way, or make one.

611's may drive the PPD down significantly, that's why these numbers are early results, not final. Also, this is all stock, so not sure how much OC it could take or what the PPD would be @ OC'd settings.

Based on the results from the GTS 450 it is very likely that the 611 WUs will result in a large PPD drop. The PPD hit from these units seems to get larger the less shaders a card has.

I can tell you for sure that the drop from a 470 to a 465 is about 4500ppd when working on 10632.

That chart is a little misleading - my GTS 450s (even at their stock FTW speeds) get well over 9000 PPD on the 611 point WUs, and over 13500 on the 912/925s. That's before I overclocked them a little

Is that stock clocks? My GTX 465 SC's are right on the heels of my GTX 470 SC with the P10632 wu's. I can clock my GTX 465's higher then my GTX 470 and it's not even 1,000 ppd difference in the cards.

    Thanks for the info rjbelans.

Also since I have my cards clocked to keep from failing the P10632 wu's my GTX 465's beat my GTX 470 on the 912/925 pointers.

Thank you Thank you Thank you for this report, although like you say not knowing what the 10632s will do to it kinda s6ck$, but at least its a "real world" test by one of the members.
Correct me if Im wrong though, I have read the little things dont like to OC very good, which even if they didnt it still is nice production for a inexpensive GPU set for just folding.

I've got it going on a run at 800/1600/700(1400eff.) and stock (0.990) voltage right now to see how it does. Showing 8880PPD on HFM on 10950(925pts.) at 66%. Looks good so far, but I will show more after a few wu have completed. Then I will see what OC I can get it to and fold there too.

Well Ill definitely be keeping an eye on this thread, I figure if they keep folding good enough for their size Ill sell a GTX275 and a GTX280 and build another RIG with these 430s. The money saved on a power supply and the 430s alone make it very interesting in itself. IMO anyway. A step up to a tri sli board and a low cost quad core....make for a whole new game!!

As far as I know, the gpu3 client is still in beta which is why some are getting the occasional failed unit. For now, the 450 is getting the same PPD as the 470 for 30% less power demand and 60% less cost, but I'm confident (hoping) this won't last.

i think a 430 for physix would be a waste of money. a used 8 or 9 series card could be had for not much over $30-$40. if your going to use it for foling as well i think it would be a wise chose. mabey save a few bucks and get a used 260gtx and use that for a folding physix card. i think once we stop seeing these high point beta units the cards numbers will go back to what they should be. same with the 450's they benefit greatly from the gpu3 beta units.

at $80 for the GT 430, very low power usage, 4 - 8K is actually not that bad, I might consider getting a couple cause I'm always trying to go for best PPD to Power Usage ratio that I can + they are cheap.

    New numbers for OC (800,1600,700[1400eff.]).

Trying for best OC. Cannot seem to increase voltage, even with MSI Afterburner.

Yeah, but if you're wanting the fastest single slot card for folding/Physx, it seems the 430 may not be a bad choice. I just wonder how it stands up to the 9800GT and GT240 in Physx...

The OC is probably limited due to power usage since it runs off the PCI-E slot.

Afterburner probably hasn't been updated to give voltage control to the GT 430.

Couldn't you run the client without the -advmethods flag and get the P10632 wu or do we no longer need that flag?

Not with GPU Tracker V2, it doesn't have a place to turn that flag off, at least not that I have found yet.
