When I had my 9800GTX installed everything was working pretty well and I rarely if ever crashed but now that I upgraded from the P09 to P10 bios and bought a GTX 480 GPU I get lots of crashes and BSODs while gaming. I posted a topic in the graphics cards section but wanted to post here to make sure all of my bios settings are correct. I gave away that old 9800GTX so I can't test a different card at the moment. Take the battery out for 10 minutes. Put it back in. Do a cmos reset (It's on the Motherboard). Go into Bios, and do a reset to defaults. Restart when you have hit F10 to save it. Go back into the Bios, and set up your preferred settings. F10 again, and reboot again. Go back into Windows. Test it, and let me know if it works. If not, we will move onto the next step.

Okay I reset my bios then removed the battery for 15 minutes and then reset my cmos jumper. While I had my case opened I read the side of my ram and it says 1.7v so I fixed that in the settings this time with the appropriate 9-9-9-24 timings. Everything else is as I had it before. I started playing Aion again and after about 25 minutes I got a BSOD involving nvlddmkm.sys like I do a lot. Other times it will just freeze in other games like L4D2, Just Cause 2, and so on. What's the next step? If needed I can do a clean Windows 7 install (I was about to do that before I made this post). The PC is rock solid and can stay on for days at a time while downloading or just playing music but when I start gaming I get lots of issues. Edit: Also if you'd like to rule out the RAM or GPU I have a set of OCZ RAM I used to use before I replaced it with Patriot RAM. I can also take the GPU out of my other PC and place it in this system if you want to narrow down the problem. It's a lot of work though.

You are running your memory faster than your FSB which can lead to data corruption. I would try the following settings: **FSB & Memorv Config** FSB - Memory Clock Mode: [unlinked] Linked FSB - Memory Ratio: (synced) FSB (QDR), MHz: [1333.3] Actual FSB (QDR), MHz: 1333.3 x MEM (DDR), MHz: 2000 (1333.3) Actual MEM (DDR), MHz: 2000 (1333.3) **System Voltages** Manually set your voltages CPU Core: [1.20] (1.20v) CPU FSB: [1.1] (1.25v) Memory: [1.800] (manufacturer's specs) nForce SPP: [1.40] (1.30v) nForce MCP: [1.500] (1.50v) Execute Disable Bit: [Enabled] (disabled)

I made all of those changes and windows is 100% stable when I'm just surfing the net, watching videos, or listening to music but when I started playing Just Cause 2 it crashed after 10 minutes of gameplay. Anything else I can try?

I uninstalled and deleted my DisplayDriver folder then reinstalled my drivers again. I'm stilll using the latest graphic drivers. Now that your sysytem is up and running you need to go back to your GPU thread and check out some PSU issues.

A few things: 1. You say that the system "crashes" when you game...exactly what happens? What is the error code, etc.? 2. It would help if you listed all of your hardware....what brand/model PSU are you using? 3. What do your temps look like when you game? What temp monitoring software are you using? 4. What CPU cooler are you using? 5. What type of case are you using, and does it have good airflow? (you temps will answer that question)

In Aion I get a BSOD related to nvlddmkm.sys (if I remember correctly) and every other game freezes w/o a BSOD. They just freeze and the audio loops and nothing on the PC responds. 2. CUQ 1200-B Coolmax 1200 watt 3. My temps are great. I monitor my GPU temps through my G15 keyboard using EVGA Precision. They range from 40-ish idle and up to 65-70-ish under load with my fan at 70%. I've tested my CPU before while gaming and it was alright at the time. I haven't monitored it recently though. 4. Zalman ZNPS9500 5. Antec 1200 - Great Airflow

I would uninstall the sound card and temporarily remove it, then game and see if it freezes. By the way, have you tested each card individually yet? I would install one card, game for a while playing the games that cause problems, then do the same with the other.

Did you use a driver cleaning program to remove your vga driver's?That can also affect the stability and cause crashing.Once you remove and re-install said driver's I would run Intel burn test for twenty passe's.I have a feeling that some voltage's still need to come up alittle.

Let me go over everything I've done until now: I optimized all of my bios settings and linked and synced my CPU and RAM to 1333mhz. Then I uninstalled all of my Nvidia drivers in safe mode and deleted the driver folder and ran Driver Sweeper. I uninstalled all the Nvidia sound drivers that show up in device manager in safe mode so now the only audio drivers I'm using are the ones for my sound card (someone mentioned that there might be an issue with the hdmi audio drivers - I'm connecting to my monitor through a hdmi cable). The things I've yet to do is run memtest on each stick of ram and install my old ram to see if it's a memory issue. I also wanted to install my other GPU into this system from my other PC to see if it crashes. I'm going to buy a multimeter asap to make sure my +12v rail is putting out enough power. Since I updated my bios just before installing the GTX 480 I'd like to try reverting from P010 back to P09 and if all else fails I'll do a complete reinstall of Windows. Edit: I just finished running memtest on each stick of RAM (2 passes each - could do more later if needed) and had zero errors. I also tried gaming on just one stick and Just Cause 2 crashed after 5 minutes.

I reinstalled windows and installed the graphic drivers with the hdaudio and 3d executables removed before installation but it still crashed after that. I then lowered the settings of my card to that of a normal GTX 480 instead of the superclocked settings and now I haven't crashed yet. After I test my PSU with a multimeter and it looks okay I may send the card back for a replacement if I can't get it to run at the superclocked settings. Any suggestions?
