Hello guys

First I'm sorry for my English

I'm trying to get stable 3.6 at least (donno about 3.8 yet)
Well here is what I got

LinX 0.6.4 - passed 20 tests without errors, 41 min 34 sec
OCCT 3.1.0 - passed one hour, priority normal, matrix (middle), no errors
Prime95 v.25.11 build 2 64bit - 11 hours, In-place large FFT's (maximum heat, power consumption, some RAM tested), Advanced -  Round off checking CHECKED

Temps were measured with Core Temp 0.99.7, under load 66-69 on all cores
Temps idle - Core 0 - 47; Core 1 - 45; Core 2 - 44; Core 3 - 44; SPP - 44; MCP - 32

guess its stable except games, I got freezes after playing every 10-15 min, then Alt+Tab and back, and its normal again

Hope for your advice

That CPU was made for OC'ing. Why do you not run it at 1800MHz so, that you can run your RAM at it's rated spex, instead of underclocking it?? You might find it easier to stabilize doing that...IMHO.

EDIT: In the meantime, try this:

    Without VDroop and SPP 1.45v

Give the changes in red a try. If not stable change 1800 to 1600 and give it a go. As JHam said that CPU should handle 1800.

I'd love to, but I'm really new in OC and donno what voltage for 1800 I should set in HERE:

    ok, let me check

Should I run same tests as before ?

I believe I said 1.45v not 1.50v..............but, since you do not have 1.45v available, try first the 1.42v and if that does not work, try the 1.47v.

Very smart...just what I was going to suggest that you do. Do you have your RAM installed in the black slots?? If not, do that too.

Yes, its in the black slots.
Well, guess I have something stable , so I took my stable settings for a basis and followed your suggestion about SPP ... right now I'm running Lost Planet 2 Benchmark 3rd time, TEST A, it has 3 short in-game tests for 3-4 min each ... and I haven't seen a single freeze yet, yahooo
After 3rd one finish, I'll go for GTA IV and GTA:EFLC, cause it gave me most of the headache with freezes and after I'll run LinX 0.6.4 for 20 tests ... will keep u posted

What a good deal. I felt that your settings were not too far off if you only had freezes in games.

If these settings do prove out to be stable...make sure that you keep a hard-copy of the BIOS Template.

Also, if you would then later like to try for 1800MHz stability...I'd be happy to try to help with that...feel free to send me a PM anytime.

Definetly I will go for 1800 but not today , and u'll be the first to ask how to ...  thanx for help !!!
Right now I'm running LinX stress test, 20 passes, only 9 passed and the temp on each loaded core is 95-98 ... is it normal ??? I got 44, some lines shows 45 Gflops, guess its normal :P

You are very welcome...I'm glad I was able to help.

I will suggest that you Enable CPU Thermal Control in the BIOS...set it for T1 and T2...this will help protect your chip from overheating. You should also try to get your CPU Core Voltage as low as possible. Take it down 1 setting at a time, testing in between, until you get a BSOD or freeze...then go back up 1 and test again.

Less volts = less heat = longer life. You only want to put as much voltage to it as is necessary. Your current voltage may be just right for your setup but, you may be able to run it lower...and if you can then, it would be wise to do so.

I'll look forward to your next update....Good Luck!!!

I am sorry to hear that. Please post a new COMPLETE template with your current settings and include the values showing that Auto is giving your GTLVREF's.

Also, what is the exact model number of your RAM?

    Hello again!
If u look at the first message, the settings I posted there was 100% stable in all stress test programms, only had freezes in games, so I went to the ones u'll see below and had no freezes only for 1 day, but I never ran Prime with them, so cannot tell u how really stable they are in tests, I played only games

A question I just thought of: On your CPU Core voltage setting of 1.45625...is that setting "in green" on the list? If yes, are there any settings above that still "in the green"???

It wont even boot after I change to 1800 with this settings, just black screen, had to turn off and on again

    I got green till 1.5000
    all below are green

    P.S.
got BSOD after I set only 1800, right after WINDOWS logo
when I set all manually, no boot at all, black scren after SAVE AND EXIT BIOS

Try the 1800 settings with vCore at highest green setting.

EDIT: Do not bother trying to go into Windows after settings changes...reboot right back to the BIOS.

    Alex,

I have asked a friend, VistaHead, who knows the FTW board better than I do to assist.

In most cases, freezing is either memory or video card related.  I would first do what danno428cj suggested in post #7.  Failing that, I would then test each stick of memory individually for 8 hours in the first slot (closest to the CPU).  You would not be the first person to encounter problems with Corsair Dominator series RAM on the 790i chipset.  I don't think you freezing is voltage related, which is part of the reason that your system passes every stress test that you throw at it.

Thank you for asking your friend!!! ok, so I managed to set 1800 (now memory 1800 and CPU 4.05) and CPU core 1.5V and not even boot, but to play Mafia II ))) but also with freezes ... guess I'll have to test memory tomorrow, each one for 8 hours ?

Yes, Sir....each stick individually for 8hrs....then, both together in the black slots.
