Well it's only rendering 2D stuff, and the Minefield browser uses Direct2D so it doesn't need 3D performance to render pages.

Well did some comparisons between various browsers and here is what I came up with.  Chrome came out on top but is awkward to operate to me.  Still liking Firefox.

Test setup:

Intel Corei7 920 @ 4.315ghz
EVGA Classified 759 Mobo
Mushkin Ascent DDR3 2000 @ 822 MHz 6-6-5-16 1T
BFG GeForce GTX 295 @ Stock Clocks

Futuremark Peace Keeper Browser Bench

Chrome

Chrome Beta

Firefox Beta

Firefox

Opera

Opera Alpha

IE8

Just incase anyone is interested or has the same problems as me i found out what was stopping the Peacekeeper Benchmark from running/loading when using Mozilla Firefox, it was AdBlock Plus (an AddOn) or possibly it may be certain filters that i use thats causing the issue but either way disabling AdBlockPlus allowed the Peacekeeper Benchmark to load and complete when using Firefox.

That's what I thought too after seeing results like that but pages loaded a good bit slower than FF 3.6b4 for me.

Hot off the press.  Here is a break down of all the browser's results.  I had to rerun all of the browsers except the Opera's as those two saved my previous runs.

Google i pretty snappy for me, it may take a page a second more to "appear" but when it does its usually fully loaded, firefox on the other hand may "appear" a fraction sooner but its still loading alot of the page.

I think Google's pretty good but Firefox feels on the same level as it but then internet Explorer feels quick enough for me also and it gets a crap Peacekeeper score, that said it definitely feels the slowest of the 3.

Hold the phones.  Firefox 3.6 Beta 4 beats both Firefox 3.5.5 and 3.7a1pre.

I don't know, but I've been waiting for "YEARS" for that to happen!  I wish it would be soon.  How hard can it possibly be?

I have some interesting things to say.  Tell me if any of you can figure this one out.  Whenever I run the test in any browser with any amount of page zoom, I lose on average of around 1500 points when running this benchmark!!!   Does anyone have an educated guess as to why this is?  Thanks!

I don't want IE8 64-bit to load any plug-in extensions like Flash and others, that way I know I can browse with 64-bit as if I had NoFlash blocker installed, and still run IE8 default 32-bit concurrently for the instances I need flash.

So no, that would just make IE8 more vulnerable. But I would like to kill off all those annoying pop-up alerts and such telling me I don't have flash properly installed etc!

I had adblockplus active when I ran mine, so it must have been the filters ya used.

Firefox is definitely faster for me. Using my 1337 scientifical methods I got my stopwatch and timed seconds page loads take. First I deleted the cache of both browsers so they would load the pages fresh, then I reloaded the same page to measure the cached load time. I watched the loading circle thing in the corner of tabs to see when the page was fully rendered. I have 7.6Mb broadband but it's never any more than 6Mb. Results:

Firefox 3.6b4 (with pipelining) Vs. Chrome 4.0.223.16

komplett.ie

Tried to turn this in to a shiny graph but failed.
