My dual-PCB GTX 295s are back to folding 4 GPU clients again with the new beta drivers.  I have to disable quad-SLI and need dummy plugs, but so far they're going strong.  I could only get 3 GPU clients folding with the previous drivers.  This makes me happy about my RMA'd GTX 295 cards now.

Yes. But for me it seems that my PPD are lower than they should be. I am going to continue for a few WUs to see how it turns out.

Yeah, I think my PPD is a bit lower as well.  But since I can get all 4 GPU clients folding I believe I'll stick with them.  PPD might increase once these drivers go WHQL.

I can see why the PPD is so low for me. I am trying to figure out how to get the F@H clients to use 100% again. Not sure what is up here.

What would be a good reason to change to these from 197.75 for us money light 200 series owners?

But the fact Nvidia made it so we don;t need plugs or extra cables is win win.

    Thanks

Maybe for Fermi, but for my dual-PCB GTX295s I still need to use dummy plugs for folding.

    Rambler.

I am back on 197.45 but I have no need for dummy plugs or extended desktops anymore. I wonder if reverting back (without using driver sweeper) would allow you to use all your GPUs without the loss of PPD.  Also, I am on gtx 260s, so I am not sure how it will effect your 295s, but might be worth a try.

What OS are you running?  And yeah, the dual-PCB 295s are a different beast though.  But I'd like to stay with the current driver as I'll be going 3D Vision soon.

Right now it's working pretty good by being able to switch in and out of quad-SLI on the fly without rebooting, and works great for gaming and folding.

So you're using 3 dummy plugs, and one monitor? Desktops extended? SLI disabled? Physics enabled/disabled?

    Main Rig:
    Intel i7 920 [C0] @ 3.82Ghz | EVGA X58 [759] Classified (64) | MM Extended Ascension w/ Pedestal | Corsair HX1050
    24GB Patriot Viper II ‘Sector 7’ 2000mhz (9-11-9-27) @ 1.65v | 2x EVGA GTX480 (875/2000 @1.1v) | CPU, GPUs and Mobo on H2O

    Dedicated Folding Rig: ~In Progress~
    Intel i7 3770K | EVGA Panther Point Mobo | Corsair AX650 | 8GB Corsair Vengeance 2000mhz (10-10-10-27) @ 1.5v

sinsear So you're using 3 dummy plugs, and one monitor? Desktops extended? SLI disabled? Physics enabled/disabled?

2 actual dummy plugs on my dual-PCB 295s and quad-SLI disabled for folding.  Desktop was originally extended (SLI disabled) to 3 additional displays for 4 total, but once quad-SLI was enabled only 2 displays show connected.  Then I just switched back and forth, out and in from SLI and didn't worry about the extending the desktop again.  Physics is enabled to auto-select, with Physics defaulting to the 1st GPU on the 2nd card .  Here's how my cards are setup:
    - Card1:  DVI input <- primary LCD DVI cable
HDMI input <- HDMI to DVI adapter <- DVI to VGA dummy plug
    - Card2:  DVI input <- DVI to VGA dummy plug
HDMI input <- HDMI to DVI adapter <- DVI to VGA adapter <- secondary LCD VGA cable

EDIT:  When I disable SLI, I don't bother removing the SLI bridge and the 4 GPU clients run fine.
EDIT2:  Sorry, I had the HDMI inputs switched around and corrected the HDMI connection - fixed now.
EDIT3:  Sorry again - only 2 actual dummy plugs are used, with DVI and VGA cables from a single monitor.

Sorry for all the edits.  I'm at work and remembering exactly how I set it up took a while.

Soo... in the end, you fold with SLI disabled and physics enabled?

    Um.......  Yup!

Because I just re-enable quad-SLI when I want to game, and disable it when I start folding again.

Yes, but only with 2 GPU clients.  I get Unstable Machine errors when trying for 3 or 4 GPU clients with quad-SLI enabled.  I remember a while back I could have SLI enabled and not need dummy plugs, have to extend the desktop, etc.  Doesn't seem to be the case with this latest beta though.  Maybe the WHQL or subsequent releases may change that.
