Hi guys,

This is my first post here os go easy one me :)

I have an EVGA 758 and I wanted to know if there is a way to get my buss speed to stop showing at 199.5 when trying for 200.

not a huge issue I just like the rounded numbers :)

i asked dfi one about this last time

they told me its just software reading of the pll

they adjusted it later
and that didnt turn out to be a very good idea.

Yeah that 199.5 versus the 200 you set in BIOS can be annoying.  In the BIOS, you don't have that extra decimal point that the software gets to show you.  Eventually, the number's got to be rounded somewhere, so the BIOS is doing the rounding.

If you sit and watch, you'll probably see that 199.5 change to .4 or .6 as the software does its own rounding.

The clock generator is running off a crystal at something like 16,666.666666666666..... Hz, which is then multiplied many times to get your bClock, and every BIOS/Software developer/etc is going to have their own opininon as to where to round that number to display to the user.

the PLL (Phase Locked Loop) is used to keep the frequency "in check" or more accurately, "in phase" with the other clocks in the system (various bus speeds, etc) by comparing it's own output to it's own input, to keep it from drifting.  Adjusting the voltage of the PLL most likely won't have any affect on the small drift you're seeing in CPU-Z.
