Challenge Infractions:
No pausing of WU prior to start time.
No sabotage of WU Bonus using another teams name - it only hurts the project.
No helping other teams win after your team has finished.

Thanks mortimersnerd, and Harlam for confirming these rules"

So theoretically, if our entire team switched over, we would complete it in like 2 and a half?

we need 5 million ppd from our team and yes if everyone switched over we could do it in 2 and a half days, but last year getting everyone to switch over soon enough was the issue. most did not switch unti the day of or day 3-4. GG

Bigadv folders should switch so that their completion time will be as soon after May 5th 12pm Pacific as possible. Switching after May 5th means your first points will come in like 2-3 days after.

    Will do wb.

Does the challenge count wu's that are started before the actual start date?  or do they just count every completed wu submitted after the start date regardless?

If we get significant amount of bigadv points on May 5th, chances are we'll get the second bigadv round on May 8th and that might be the end of the competition

I will be doing exactly the same thing with my big adv so they dump on one of the first 2 updates.

the 12pm pst update is  the start of points so naturally we want our team already folding theday before , this cost us alot, and I mean alot of points last year. for big adv I will be following WB's method and all other clients will be turned over to EVGApes on the 4th of May at noon pst

I advise everyone to do the same and if you got questions please feel free to ask them in here so we can help you out the best we can so our team is not late to the "BIG SHOW"

big adv and smp2 folders don't forget to change name and passkey!!!!!!!

If I time it right, my first wu should be completed on May 5 ( 1pm PST )  and my second round complete on May 7
     ( my bigadv farms ) is running TPF of 27:50 ( fastest ) to 29:13 ( slowest )

I currently have one in testing of new kernal ( 30:34 ) So i am planning on tweaking that bigadv to make it in the 28-29 time frame

I will have to sacrifice big points to do this. I'll be turning everything over on the 29 of APRIL as I'm heading out of country with the wife on vaca. Won't be back until the 7th of May. So when you see points start building up for EVGApes on the 29th, you'll know it's me!
My only worry is power or cable outage. had the briefest of T-storm yesterday, but it was enough to shut both rigs off when the power blipped for just a second! No one home to set things right if that happens. By the time I get home, the CC will almost be over I think, so if there is a crash, might not be able to recover in time. Sucks, but the trip was planned well before the CC was announced. Just hope the folding gods keep Murphy away!!!!!!!

Jeez, the things ya gotta do for the team......

Everyone please don't forget to have your clients foldiing atleast may 4th so the points are all rolling in on the 5th and not 6-12 hours later.

If your doing big adv wu's try to make sure they are not going to drop until after the firstpoint dump at 12 pm pst may 5th

Last year we failed to plan.

This year we are planning to dominate! I know as a team we can put up 8-9 million a day and I see some names on here today I have not seen in awhile which means we can easily put up 10 mil a day if everyone works together as a team. I would love to see our team jump out to a 5 million point lead day one of CC and I know it is possible.

Every folder counts doesn't matter how many points you put up a point is a point and this is a race to points. As Aragon once had in his sig, it is better to have 100 8k PPD folders then 1, 1 million ppd folder.

Anything can happen power outages failed wu's etc.. the more numbers we have the better.

Please do not forget to switch your folding name prior to may 5th is all I ask, and the rest will play out for the best.

If you have any questions at all, please ask us in a new thread and we will combine all our folding knowledge to help everyone the best we can.

Just so I understand... we're switching our USERNAMES to EVGApes and leaving our team number/passkeys in tact, yes?

This is my first year doing this, sorry for the newbie question.

change user name to EVGApes is corect but change passkey to non, unless your doing big adv or smp2 cpu clients then you'll need a passkey for EVGApes name

From your folding total, it looks like you just started and are not doing SMP yet. With your apparent current setup, yes you just need to change the username to EVGApes, but you do not have to have a passkey.

How long have you been folding for EVGA and under what username? Looked in the stats and don't see BRambo anywhere. From the total of 783, it looks like you have only completed 1 wu for EVGA.

I just started folding tonight, but I'm experimenting with several methods.  I've finally got a setup that's working how I want it to. (It's SMP, I am folding on a few machines, but the primary machine is an 8 Core Hyperthread system (Dual-Quad core Xeons).  I'm grinding through my initial A3's with my passkey now sitting at just shy of 21000 PPD, then I'll switch to bigadv once I get 10 wu's under my belt.

I'll be churning keys on a 275, 2 280s, and 2 8800gtx's as well once I get them all dialed in how I want.  (If Stanford gets the Fermi GPU code working, I'll fire up my 480 and 470 as well)

I'm prepping for the challenge :)  I have a couple of i7 machines, and another dual-quad core box I'm setting up for it too.  In doing this I've realized I have way too much extra hardware lying around...
