Hey all,

I have my new x99FTWK and SB ZXR PCIe sound card coming. On the FTWK there are two possible places i can install the card. Into the small PCIe slot that is routed through the PCH or into a full 16x(@8x) sized slot direct to the CPU. Does anyone have any experience with using the PCH routed PCIe slot for sound? Does this increase latency? I would really prefer to NOT need to disable the m.2 slot for future upgrades.

Thanks so much!
Jonathan

I have the same set up except I have 2 1080s so I cannot use the x1 slot but I have also used the sound card on the PCH when I had the Asus RVE10. Didn't have any issues. Unfortunately, with my current set up. it is sitting in PCIe slot 4 which reduces my second card to x8....
