For those of you who've avoided upgrading to Windows 10 so far, Microsoft has offered some scary ransomware numbers to prove it's in your interests to do so. Link

might have something to do with the way the "coincidentally" broke the windows 7 updates - takes forever to get them, if ever since windows 10 was crammed down peoples throats.

I am sure there is, I would place a bet Microsoft is behind it too. Just to get you to upgrade. I bet the big antivirus software companies are behind all the viruses too. Where the heck is my tinfoil hat ooops there is is on my head all along Honestly i would not put it past them. What better way to get people to buy your product.

I have a mix of win7 and 10. Win10 is ok, I have to have win7 since MS did away with support in win10 for MCE I use my TV with a card to watch TV. It is easier to tape shows since I can have as much storage as I want.

I'm not upgrading either. There are still countless people and businesses using XP. Maybe the hackers gave up on XP since nobody is supposed to be using it since MS dropped support?

I'm not apologizing if this comes off as conspiracy, but you guys shouldn't be naive or forget that Microsoft is a business and if they lose sales of Win 10 to their own previous OS discovered by their own marketing and statistic department, then of course generating some hype or hysteria would help sales. After all, a dollar for MS isn't a dollar for MS if it interferes with a new product roll out. I'm not saying these "randomwares" aren't real, I'm just saying take it with salt; I've never (yet) experienced it, while someone else could have and then got Windows 10 (congratulations to MS for the successful campaign). If I get Windows 10, it won't be because I'm afraid my current OS is up for grabs, is has to be because I want the features and support of new applications that MS is trying to isolate to make the OS more appealing. I'd like to think the rest of you that went on to 10 did it because you wanted to, not because MS' scare tactics about your previous OS worked.

This is like Samsung sending out a report that they made telling you how safe the note 7 is along with a pie graph to prove it.

Because they would expose people that would get them fired, like people with private email servers and people related to those people... in high places.

If Windows 7 is soooo dangerous and everybody hates Windows 10, the obvious solution would be to re-release Windows 7 new and improved version next year and call it Windows 17. Makes sense to me anyway.

It seemed more like a billboard flashing advertisements than it resembled a Start Menu. That's just my opinion after only being able to stomach Windows 10 for a very short period of time before having to roll back to Windows 7. It was a life or death decision basically. I would rather end it all than be forced to use Windows 10 in its current form with all of the bloatware, addon rubbish for Windows phones which I believe are either extinct or on the endangered species list, more rubbish for XBox owners who were stupid enough to build a gaming PC just so they could hook their XBox up to it and play games on it through their PC (that's PC gaming, right?), and last but not least the intrusive snooping. Whew, that took a lot out of me. I'd better lay down for a nap.

I don't find the Win10 start menu to look anything like Win7 one, although I've gotten used to it. What I really don't like is the lack of a good way to increase the text size of it like I could in Win7. Anything above 1080 res and I can barely see it at 2' away. I don't care to blow up my entire screen just to be able to read the start menu. Win10 really lacks in customization like Win7 had.

The one of the few things I did like about Windows 10 was how many functions were available just by right-clicking on the Start Orb. I really think that Windows 7 was the best OS to date that MS has produced. It was customizable, no bloatware and no snooping.

Just did a clean install of 7 a month or so ago. I didn't see any bloatware. No Iheart radio, minecraft or candy crush ads in my start menu either. Just an OS performing how it should. About the only thing I find is the sample videos, music and pictures which I trash anyway.

Same here. Just a few games that I disable using Windows Features. I disable the Media Center too because it has always been nothing but trouble for me.

There was a thread here a while back, win7 and win8 are snooping on us too. Lets face it, they can track up where ever we go. Myself I liked 7 better. The way it is laid out, the looks of it. Having 7 and 10 on computers I use every day. 10 is ok, I have not had any problems to speak of, except the forced update reboots. I found a way to put an end to that nonsense.
