I have windows 10 pro on my spare machine and have been warming up to it quite a bit lately. ive been a 7 user for years and have been reluctant to change the OP on my main machine. that said, which one should I get? and how much should I expect to pay? That website looks suspect. I would not trust it at all. $20 for Windows 10? Yeah right. I bet those are shady keys they are selling and 1 day your system will be deactivated. As for the version. Standard is fine for a home user.

yep has been for a month I did research on it before I bought no one has had issues if I do will post here but went through Microsoft said product was activated I even put it on mother in laws computer before mine put it back to windows 7 cause I needed it I have paid 30 or 40 dollars for windows keys for years what you guys pay?

Any of the 64-bit versions. But if all you do is gaming and the occasional browsing, then the home edition will be sufficient. The PRO version just offers more language support and a few other things targeted to the business owners. There's really no need for it unless you specifically use those items or want windows in 40 different languages ^_^. As for pricing, I generally use newegg as my starting ball park and search around that price range to see if i can find better deals. Never seen anything for less than 1/2 of newgg's price in the same condition (i.e new). So if you're finding a key for significantly less its probably not legit or going to remain legit for long.

ok. I just reinstalled windows 7. activated it. ran the media creation tool for win 10. and its stuck on "getting updates' for hours now. do I need to update 7 first? I cant even install my video card drivers yet

Never check the checkbox to install updates during a Windows 10 upgrade. Let it grab the updates normally after the install. You don't need to install 7 to install 10 either. You can install 10 1607 via DVD or USB and insert your Windows 7/8 key when prompted. No key needed when your motherboard remembers your 7/8 key in the firmware. ####### No need for Pro if you won't use the features. However for a few dollars apart at the locations I posted in the Hot Deals section, feel free to get either.
