https://techcrunch.com/2016/11/01/facebook-gameroom/ After losing mobile gaming to iOS and Android, Facebook is making a big push into playing on PC with today’s developer launch of its Gameroom Windows desktop gaming platform. After months of name changes, beta tests and dev solicitation, Facebook opened up the beta build for all developers and officially named it Gameroom. The app is openly available for users to download on Windows 7 and up. Gameroom let users play web, ported mobile and native Gameroom games in a dedicated PC app free from the distractions of the News Feed.
I think Gameroom is dead before it even gets started. They don't have any AAA developers making exclusive games for them like Origin, Uplay, Battlenet, and Steam does. Who wants another DRM client to worry about, specially one by a company with the reputation facebook has.

I think this will be aimed mostly for smart phones more than PCs.

How long before facebook starts adding ads into video games they sell. That is something i wouldn't put past that company to do.

they sure do have the financial resources to do so but i don't think with their reputation that they will see growth worth while in that market

Looking at it's content, donno who in their right mind would think it's a Steam or Origin competitor.

Clickbait title is all. Facebook can go pound sand.
Not my fault if you're offended.
