I have the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW and in the past few days I have twice had an issue where the screen has completely cut out and gone black (no sound in the background either) and the fans speed up very fast on the video card. Both times were while I was playing Guild Wars 2. Now, I kind of believe the issue was with GW2 as there was a new outfit that would cause the game to crash, but since this was not a typical game crash like what was typically happening to others, I want to know if anyone else has any suggestions.
I have not overclocked the card as of yet but I have noticed it seems to boost quite well. Now when the screen has cut out and the fans speed up, the temperatures are perfectly normal. My CPU temp rarely goes above 44 even under full load. I don't believe this to be a power supply issue as I just replaced my PSU back in May with an EVGA Supernova P2 850 Platinum.
Now as you can see in the screenshot, that is what my numbers normally look like, but the GPU Clock will occasionally go to 2012MHz and the voltage to 1062mv. Is this likely just a problem with the game or could I have a larger issue I need to troubleshoot? Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
