So I ordered a EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition, 08G-P4-5173-KR, 8GB GDDR5, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) and it arrived today. I pulled out the two R9 280X Toxics I had been running. Put in my new card and system did not post. Went and reset the bios to defauts and system went into bios setup.  Set the clock and time and put the correct hdd for boot and saved and restarted.  Nothing but a black screen and three beeps after 20 seconds or so, one long and two short. Put one of my old cards back in and system booted up after resetting bios. Did some online reading and flashed my mobo bios to latest, went out and bought a new hdmi 1.4 spec cable came home went through the process of putting new card in and after resetting bios and reboot black screen no post and three beeps after 20 seconds or so. So I reduced ram and still no go, I will next be pulling out the hdd's and only leaving in the SSD. Other then trying these couple of things I am at a loss as to fixing this issue. I have been building systems for 24 years and am not a dummy. The card does work sort of until I set the bios and after the reboots just black and beeps. One thing I have thought of is maybe the 5 yo 50" plasma tv I use. Guess I need to find some sort of monitor to try this theory. Another thing might be the mobo but it will sort of work just not really lol. I know its not the ps unless the card does not like the AX1200i as some devices do not, the 1070 says 160 watts and the two R9's pull 500-600 watts when being pushed and not a bit of trouble there. Any ideas I have not tried?

Found a lot of people using a 1070 with that motherboard. Try testing the card in another computer to see if you received a faulty card.

So the card works in my sons intel based mobo. Back in my system black screen before post and the three beeps. Guess I'm looking for a new mobo or I do have acess to the same mobo he has and add an i7 but at greater cost vs new amd mobo. Kinda surprised the bios does not have more settings then it does as the fixes I have read about all are arrived at using settings not in my bios.

Such a long long time to be gone, such a short time to be.
