thanks CptSpig, I think I'll wait for Hydro Copper for FTW. i think it's worth some time to wait than spending $300 more to get looped now.

Should I update my 2 1080 FTWs to the newly announced VBIOS if I ordered 2 of these hybrid kits to install on them? It doesn't say in the FAQ specifically. http://www.evga.com/thermalmod/

The new VBios just changes the fan curve to an more aggressive profile, so I don't think so

Goddam it, I couldn't wait... pulled the trigger and bought one (including the $15 shipping)

Also bought 2 ML120Pros (and a fan splitter, 16 screws, and a can of compressed air).

Gonna pull/push this baby with mag-lev fans!

Will EVGA be releasing an installation video (I found one for the 980ti install)?  The paper instructions are terrible.  There's undocumented parts, missing parts (at least in my kit), etc.  I did put in a support ticket but haven't heard anything yet.

The first one is tape to tape the header wires around the fan. (Look inside the shroud that came with it, you will see some in there)
The second one I believe is supposed to be pieces of thermal pad to be situated somewhere on the underside of the pcb I believe.

I received a reply from support stating the the first is thermal pads for VRAMs and the second is a "tube spacer".  I still have no idea what I'm supposed to do with those but mine didn't come with a tube spacer anyway.

Well they don't know what they are talking about then because for one, the copper plate has thermal pads already applied for the VRAM.
I just looked at my kit again  and in the bag with the two pieces of tape, and it is just tape, is the one strip of 2mm thermal pad to go inbetween the pcb and backplate and 3 small washers.
There is another piece of thermal pad that is 1cm x 1cm and I have no idea where that is supposed to go because there is no mention of it in the instructions.
You might want to send them a picture of what was included in the kit and ask them to explain.

Well, the earliest I'll be able to do this is Friday so I hope I have an answer from support before then.  The instructions don't even tell you how to remove the ACX cooler.  It's just magically gone.

Can anyone give rough temperatures I should expect under load after installing this? I am still getting up to high 60c/low 70c in Battlefield1 with no overclocks or anything. I'm thinking I need to disassemble, reapply paste, upgrade radiator fan, etc.

Well, this is starting to get a bit silly.  I received another reply from support stating that the picture I posted above isn't EVGA's (it was taken directly from the product page) and then sent me instructions for installing thermal pads.

EVGA's support used to be much better than this.

It looks like there would be no point to installing the thin strip thermal mod to the front of the card (on the inductors) if you have this kit since there is no heatsink above them in this kit. Is that correct?

Still not available on Amazon and EVGA won't ship outside of North America.

that seems rather high...i ran furmark and the temp maxed at 55c...you also have to look at it more in terms of ΔT, rather than absolute temperature, as absolute temps are going to be dependent on ambient air temps.

Why are EVGA releasing a hybrid kit for the FTW when there is already kits available from other manufacturers?  When there is nothing available for the Classified?

Shouldn't you be concentrating on coming up for a solution for your only card that currently has NO solution available anywhere! (1080 CLASSIFIED).

Seriously - the Classy REALLY needs some loving.

Thank you.

I was contemplating a kit for my 1080 FTW, but they're unavailable if you're outside the USA which is kind of... pointless.

They didn't even give me a tracking number for my Hybrid and its annoying as hell. It just says "Shipped USPS (No Tracking Number)"

I have to go to a Post Office to get my packages. I would like to know when the hell it would arrive so I can make time during the day for it...
