I just received my replacement X10 Carbon via RMA today and I can't help but notice the top lid over the weights and switches seems quite different, it's easier to remove and it seems as if the switches themselves have moved from the front end of the mouse to a more middle location along the body.

Is this a redesign, or am I imagining things?

This is going to take some getting used to, the switches don't seem to trigger as easily as the first one.
