hi guys

the card automatically boosts up to 1361mhz but i could just able to add +55 mhz to core and achived 1406 mhz .How can i achive at least 1450mhz ?is there any other way to give more voltage to the gpu?

is there any custom bios or something like that that provides more voltage?

i am using msi afterburner and maxed out the power limit but anything over 1416mhz core clock the card crashes. Most of the people are having over 1450mhz core clock easily but i can't :(

Out of curiosity use GPU-Z and see what the ASIC score is. I just bought a 980 ti Classified but it won't be here until tomorrow. https://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/

I ordered the 'other' older model: 06G-P4-3997-KR http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-3997-KR
That's not exactly a stellar ASIC score but it isn't the end of the world. I really would have expected more especially for a Classified board. This will be my very first Classified anything and now you have me scared!
The good news is that a voltage boost will help your clock rates reach normal levels of a higher ASIC board. At least that's the way it worked with my GTX-980 Gaming 4G that had a 64.5 ASIC. I could add more Core Clock boost than my 79.0 ASIC board but it would not boost as high until I added the extra voltage. After that they ran at the same clock rates.

I'm not familiar with PrecisionX as I prefer to use MSI Afterburner but there should be a voltage slider on there and a box to check in Settings to Unlock Voltage Control and another to Monitor Voltage. Let me see if I can find some pics or the 'Read Me' notes for it and get back to you on that.

I used / tried  both   PrecisionX and after burner     kinda a tit for tat thing   [get each and try out ]    with this card I seem to get better results from   PrecisionX  ,  but you know how any cards can be different from any other card..    I do see afterburner seems safer to use  as it will quickly reset back to the cards default  if you get a bad overclock where    PrecisionX  don't seem to do so as readily.    I felt with it you need to monitor things and keep a eye on it  incase something looks not so right  to manually get out or stop.

overvoltage  its turned off by default  you have to turn it on  . [click overvoltage  at right  and it lights up the words  for on -  unlit is off  ]   its a offset %   not like one click is .001mv  for fine tuining  unless I'm missing something on that

I agree  that asic of anything less then 72  like with a reference card  would hurt my feelings a bit ,    but with a classy would hurt a bit more

good luck and enjoy you new card

Depends on how your going to cool that GPU; if that is a "bad" ASIC

PC details would be nice to know - (so I'll give some basics)

Are your OC your PC ?

Did you OC the PCIe ?

    Ambient temp (room) ?

CPU & GPU temp while running Heaven Benchmark ?

How stable is your voltage, are you using a UPS, quality and details of your PSU ?

Just an FYI - Maxwell doesn't take kindly to more voltage most of the time, and can become more unstable if too much voltage is applied.

I've got a 980 Ti Classified. Air cooled (76% ASIC) max OC was 1466 MHz. Then I put an AIO water cooler on it, build log on the left under ModsRigs, and I can get 1525MHz.

I'm not saying that you can OC that high even under water, but these Classified cards are EXTREMELY temperature sensitive. Like, 65C max was 1466MHz, 50C was 1500MHz, and 42C is 1525MHz. When it goes slightly above those temps at those frequencies it black screens.

+18 offset made a difference on this card  for sure   smoothed things right out nice  . may take more ???  alls looking fine as it is now for me , but    that's not to say it will on any card    I guess that's down to oc'ing trial and error  with any particular  card used .    I guess as well  what is the stock at load out of the box voltage set at on the card ??   1.193 ? ,  1.21 ?, 2.0 ?  is it all ready near all it can take   or can it take more ?

what do  they call it . luck of the draw ??

I see this argument all of the time but my results are quite the opposite. On air cooling I could run at 1500 MHz stable on both of my MSI GTX-980 Gaming 4G boards. They would run higher but I thought 1500 MHz was a nice round number. Never boosting the voltage on any of my previous video boards I decided to give it a try to see what happened and if I could get a even higher OC. Well, to make a long story longer, I boosted my voltage to the maximum available which was +.87 and I gained 26 MHz on both boards without touching any other settings. Just thought I would throw this out there for anyone who is curious.

''Maxwell Needs to be Colder''     what do you really oc that don't ???    heat generally goes up as your settings do   hand in hand   though some things more the others depending on how efficient your  cooler / cooling  is to start , right ?  most air cards get pretty warm at stock   so say you got 2 like cards equal  the same  but one may get  78c  the 2ed may go 70c  doing the same thing  at the same settings  and  that what you got to work with

upping voltage on this card was a benefit ,  then some don't take much of any if at  all as well .   your back to luck  of the draw

One of these days I'm going to have to get one of those "Chillers" just to see what happens at cooler temperatures for my video boards. With my current loop I max out at no higher than 40-42° during most video games and bemchmarks. It was those Vulkan drivers in DOOM that drove my primary board up to 49° working by itself. I can run my benches at 1620 MHz now and lower temps might get me a little bit higher. I have to wonder if 1700 MHz is out of my reach or not. Using older drivers I had benched Firestrike at 1640 MHz but after that is was TDR time.

Colder is Better, and Use of a Chiller would also enable you to OC the CPU higher.

Spirit_Rises Use MSI Afterburner, Precision X is buggy. For a start, it's not necessary to change the voltage. You should be able to increase the Clockspeed + 50 - 100MHz without changing something on the powertarget.

    Corsair - Dominator Platinum 8GB 1866MHz - Obsidian 800D - EVGA 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ - Supernova 750 G2 - Z87 Classified - Func KB-460 - MS-3² - Intel i7-4770K - Samsung 850 Pro 512GB - s24e450 HDMI Monitor - Western Digital 10EALX 1TB

''lol, I was just referring to the use of a Chiller to get the Temps Down''    I know , just throwing things around  ..

''You should be able to increase the Clockspeed + 50 - 100MHz without changing something on the powertarget''

that's something I see as well   using gpuz ??   like wint its prefcap reason   thing    I noticed if  with out a slight voltage offset   when or as you increase clocks  and that causes orange to pop up in its blue field  it can be a slight  hair thin little line  or it can be just  thick or  solid    but with the same oc with a voltage bump  that stays all blue with out any orange [i'll assume a warning indicator ] ? I its showing due to power ?

so  if you got 5 same  980ti but each had a different  asci   then each would have a different stock voltage ?    example   a card has a asci  of 85 the load voltage is 1.098   but card 2 is a 65 asci   and its load stock voltage would be  1.125  v  ???   one more thing is  if you don't touch  nothing but the voltage offset   and take card 1 at  1.098v that boosts to 1228  up to   1.125v that will increase the boot clock higher  to say 1310   with out needing to adjust any  core or mem sliders at all   . I'm assuming that all has to do with NVidia's boost 2 or 3  ?? I noticed my card boost clock increses just on the amount of voltage I put to it  with out adjusting any thing else and them if any orange lines in gpuz perfcap  are gone nothing but blue

with that I see here voltage offset to the +  is working good ., but how much it can safely take  I aint got a clue

Problem is not all GPU's are created equal. I have the same 980Ti classified model and doing nothing it runs 1478Mhz.
As has been mentioned unlock voltage control, turn it up a little. I don't leave the fan settings on auto.

Just an FYI - Maxwell doesn't take kindly to more voltage most of the time, and can become more unstable if too much voltage is applied.

Maxwell doesn't take kindly to more voltage most of the time, and can become more unstable if too much voltage is applied.

It is prevalent simply due to:

    More voltage = more heat

More heat at the edge of max over clock = crashes

That's what happens with my temperature sensitive Classy. Now if you are air cooled, yes adding a bit of voltage can get you a little further. I'm talking about water cooled over clocking at the edge.

I get my very first Classified 980 ti some time today. I'll have to see how it goes in my Z77 2600k build since there is no way I am taking my 980s out of this PC I am using now.
QUESTION: Since I have a dual BIOS switch am I allowed to do some 'tinkering' with the second BIOS without voiding my warranty?

The second bios is for LN2. I wouldn't change anything for the first time. Maybe, you will not keep that card.

    Corsair - Dominator Platinum 8GB 1866MHz - Obsidian 800D - EVGA 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ - Supernova 750 G2 - Z87 Classified - Func KB-460 - MS-3² - Intel i7-4770K - Samsung 850 Pro 512GB - s24e450 HDMI Monitor - Western Digital 10EALX 1TB

Patiently waiting still. We'll see what that second BIOS changes as far as Power Limit and Voltages.

Power limit is increased to 140% (iirc) with the LN2 VBIOS. I got exactly 0 difference with over clocking by switching to it.

You need at least one original VBIOS on the card for any warranty claim to be accepted. Personally, I keep the original in two places if I mess with it - just because.

Sometimes I have to wait until after 6:30 at night for UPS in my area. I'm trying not to get too excited about it. I hope EVGA doesn't let me down and send me some low ASIS Pig that won't OC at all. I am hoping for at least a 75. If it's higher than that I might pee my pants.

The earlier model I got is supposed to have a different shroud on it and that's the only difference 'supposedly'. I have seen complaints about the newer shroud having a 'pinkish' hue to it? IDK, I never could afford a Classified board before this one. After I am done with it I will give it to my nephew anyway.

The Classy REF failed to run at Classified speeds, so was detuned to REFerence speeds.

The 0998 model doesn't have a backplate, and has a slightly different looking shroud with no LEDs.

It's been explained in a couple of threads.
