It shouldn't do that if you are logged in to the forums. It might do that if you are trying to download the version that is dedicated to the GTX-1080 boards. You got one of those already?

I have my GTX 1080 already installed in my Rig. I downloaded the software from evga while signed in. I think you were absolutely right.. I must of have gone to find the software in the EVGA website without signing in because now I downloaded the software while logged in and this time the requirements were gone. Thanks

 I am having a problem like you but mine says it cannot detect my new 1080 i just received in the mail and installed, i downloaded the latest driver update that was available for the card, restarted my PC multiple times, but i'm not sure what to input there or if its supposed to just detect my card? This is the first Nvidia card i have bought so im still new to this whole thing here is a link to the message box i am receiving any help is appreciated :D

Did you register your video board with EVGA? These whole forums have been messed up all day. I couldn't even reach the download page earlier. Just make sure that you're logged in and give it some time. The bad news it that it is a holiday too so nobody to call on the phone until Tuesday. MSI Afterburner has a 'beta' version available if you're not picky about which utility you use. Hello,
There are specific features of the new Precision X that will only work with pascal card models. Precision X is asking for that information to verify whether you have a Pascal gen card or maxwell/kepler/fermi etc..

Thanks for all the info guys.. I just found it weird because my computer flagged the download as corrupted or harmful and then when I saw that I kind of wonder, that's what I asked. Anyway, once I downloaded today again while signed in It did not even asked me to enter that info.

Is there any way for me to get my serial number without having to open up my computer? The box is thrown away. It's a damn shame if I can only use the software by getting the serial number off of the card. Stuff like this just makes me not want to use the software at all, and all those benefits that supposedly go with it become irrelevant to me.

If you threw the box away then you'll need to open your PC and get the S/N off of the sticker on the video board.
P.S. Most of us are using MSI Afterburner anyway.

I'm a packrat and never throw anything away especially the original boxes as they seem to add to the resale value if and when I decided to sell my old video boards. Yea it asked me as well after installing my 1080GTX Founder Edition upon opening 6.0.2 for the first time. Weird, never seen that before. Must be new.
Still waiting on a updated version of PX 6.0.2 because its so loaded with bugs atm.....

I have the same issue. It says "EVGA Graphics Card Not Detected". I just uninstalled old nvidia drivers, ran DDU, uninstalled a ASUS 660ti, installed the 1080 FTW I received this morning and installed the nvidia 368.69 drivers.

Hello I have the same problem it's asking me for my card's serial number while i'm signed in to evga forms. Where do i find the serial anyway? does this mean that I have to open up my pc and look for some numbers on the card itself because that would be stupid just to be able to use software that's supposed to be free PS would thew serial be on the box as well? I couldn't find it

You can find the Serial Number in a few different places/ways..You can find it on the product sticker or on the product box or on the sales invoice. Also, if you have previously registered your product, there's no need to open your PC and in some cases remove hardware to read the sticker: Simply login to EVGA..From the EVGA Hoe Page, click Member, then click My EVGA, then click View/Edit My Products..All your registered EVGA products will be shown there along with the Serial Number, the Part Number, the Part Description, the Place Purchased, the Purchase Date and the Date (and time) Registered..From there, clicking on the View Details button will show you additional information such as Warranty Information and Step-Up Information.

I was on 5.0 precision x somehow, I dont know where I got it. I downloaded 6.0 today and I was greeted with that sign up box.
Nope. Refuse. Uninstalling, I'll use something else. This is stupid. "EVGA Card Detected", so let me use my 1080 GTX. You dont need my serial number. If you do, just grab it from my existing account dammit. I shouldn't have to sign up twice.
Even if I didnt have to crack open my case and I had my serial number infront of me on pen & paper (seriously EVGA?), I'm not filling it in to sign up my card which you clearly detect I have for a second time.

This is horrible. Last thing I want to do is tear into my machine and try to grab a serial number for my 980SC card I've used forever. Just did a fresh win10 install and now I can't use the software because it's asking for a serial number. But yet detects the card.. Horrible UX.
EVGA Please remove this requirement.

That's exactly what I did. Granted, I could have grabbed the box, since I have that around as well, but it was actually easier to just go to my products page and copy the Serial # from there.
