Is the replacement for the 1500W classified? Does this mean there is no classified brand PSU this time?

So evga has two versions of the 1600w? One with gold efficiency and the other with titanium efficiency?

    Yea G2 and T2.
It's similar Power cable as on NEX1500...
    But one thing miss...

Gold standard is best for gamers, because it's very efficient, now it's not too expensive after Platinum show up, probably best choice for most people. 750G2/850G2/1000G2...That's best what people can get for their price at this moment on market. 1300G2 is for high end builds, multi GPU.

So 1600watts with the standard NEMA-15 plug, no need for the special 20amp plug like other vendors required?

Heatware: Trelor - I primarily use eBay which is attached to my heatware.

If this PSU becomes EVGA's new flagship, seeing how it lacks a USB port, does this mean it won't support software monitoring like the previous 1500W model?  I liked the idea of monitoring amperage use, though I would have preferred it on a lower wattage unit.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

I agree, to me that seems that it should be a standard feature on any unit around this price point, because I would think that the target market for such an expensive PSU would def appreciate as much good info as possible on how their system is operating. If it isn't on it now, does anyone know if there are plans to add it down the road?

So 1600watts with the standard NEMA-15 plug, no need for the special 20amp plug like other vendors required?

kinda wondered about this myself, specs say it requires 10-15 amps, which at 115VAC comes out to 1725w so a dedicated 15A circuit is highly advised unless you want to trip it, probably better off with a 20A circuit, but but i'm thinking some people may have to start checking how much power they are getting  to there main panel, i could see someone starting their game and dimming all the lights in the house

    Hey,

I bought this Power Supply some weeks ago.

Is it normal for the fan to go full speed all the time?
I kinda bought my computer to be silent.
ANd from my experience, most new PSU's today don't sound that much.
But this does. And its kinda annoying :(

    Regards

Yeah, sorry. It does not look like you made a great choice for a low noise PSU.
    http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/SuperNOVA_G2_1600/6.html

The noise chart and comments indicate that the fan does run all the time (at a rather high level...though not full speed ;))

It stands to reason that someone needing 1600 watts, is going to be running a large number of graphics cards, and even with water cooling, a large number of cooling fans.

Your case proves what I have been arguing in other forums(a massive over provision(PSU wattage capacity over requirement) does not necessarily result in lower noise)
