ironically no, just a good price and considering i live at home with about $150 a month total going into bills it won't be a problem. I've got about 600 a month to play with as far as car payment, insurance, and gas money goes right now, if i get a raise at work that jumps to about 1k a month for whatever LOL.  I've always wanted a GTO and settled for the G6 as it was my first car and now that its been a few years i'm like alright, i want something a bit better and happened across this a few weeks back and was like OMG! especially since they are getting to be rare.

Only thing is... i've never really driven stick and its manual, but i'm learning to drive manual on a friends car so that when i sign the papers i'll be good to drive home, might not be pretty but i will haha.

Given financial circumstances, I would not do a GTO in your shoes especially with an increase in gas, and insurance its not worth it unless you can back it up.

If you seriously dont drive stick, I would set aside an extra $1500 for tires/clutch...one of which you almost certainly will need to replace during the learning process.

Respect the power and you'll prally b fine, grats.

    5.7 or 6.0 btw?

This is what I was thinking but, I'm not going to judge. I'm tired of giving people advice and watching it go in one ear and out the other.

OT: Nice car. I agree with the clutch/tire thing. Be ready to burn it out lolz.

which i've kept in mind ;)  If the figures i've found for gas mileage are close to what i actually get i'll be fine, travel distance from work to home is like half a mile at most and otherwise i'm out shopping maybe once a week or so, a tank of gas will still last me a few weeks.

Like above.  Insurance i checked ahead of time as well and to my surprise my insurance will only jump 20 bucks a month from 115 to 135, and considering just 6 months ago i was paying 250 a month for insurance its still a bargain.

Once you get used to a manual transmission it's not so difficult. I drove my first manual transmission in Europe.

I like your enthusiasm. I live 4 miles from work and 4 back, I thought I would lower my gas usage over my previous commute. But i got a more fun car, so now i go out of the house w/ an excuse to drive. Comes out to 60/week anyway lol.

Its not that hard to drive standard transmission.  I taught a 16 year old punk kid in about an hour with my old Toyota 4Runner.  Stick shift is far superior to those clunky slush-boxes.

I learned a stick on a old Ford tractor out in Wy when I was barely able to look over the wheel. I thought that was great till about a year later when Dad sent me out  to load the hay wagon and do the morning chores alone Sticks aren't bad until you pull up on a big hill and have to stop. Then you just have to set the emergency brake and pull the transmission against it to go then pop the brake free..I've used that little trick for a couple other things too. Sweet looking car BTW grats.

Was that your first choice of color? No one is going to have trouble recognizing your car, that's for sure.

My biggest problem with learning how to drive a clutch was no one told me that it was ok for the car to move a little bit while the clutch was still partially engaged. As soon as the car would start to move forward I would completely let go of the clutch very quickly and stall it.

haha GTo's are quite rare so not much choice in color anyways, i like the color honestly, but yeah i'm gonna stick out so well for the cops XD.  And yeah, i'm just hoping i don't stall it out leaving the car lot, talk about embarrasing!  I'm gonna be like i'm not too comfortable with stick so don't laugh haha
