I received a letter late March from my provider (Cogeco Cable) saying that I was eligible to receive a download speed increase at no extra charge. They stated it was arriving in mid April, but I felt weary of it and if the letter was real. I guess they were discontinuing the package that I have (30mbps down / 10 up), and would be replacing it with their new line of fiber optic packages.

As of today I now get 60+mbps down/10 up and I am LOVING it!! My BF4 game has been acting up lately, so I figured now was the best time to uninstall it and re-install. My peak speed through origin download manager was 8.5mbps! Absolutely insane for what I am used to, I used to think getting 3.5mbps was lightning.

Anyways. It's been awhile since I have posted here and I thought hmm, where better to post my interwebz happiness than good ol' EVGA forums.

Happy good Friday everyone, cheers!

This has been my first one speed wise, I received a letter almost a year ago I would guess saying my bandwidth was nearly doubling for free. Now what I have noticed is they've nearly doubled my speed, but put dropped my bandwidth back to where it was - 275gb per month compared to 500gb per month. Ill take it though! I never get even close to using my full 275gb, and the download speeds are crazy in my opinion! About 3 years ago my speeds were 7mbps down and 2ish mbps up. Yay for fiber optics!

I read a story the other day saying the fastest internet speed achieved with fiber optics was 1.4 TERABITS per second!? That is completely unimaginable. WOW!
