Why do they keep saying i7? Is the game really going to require HT to run Ultra? Such a silly gimmick. My i5 3570K @ 4.5 GHz should be fine.

I can't find concrete evidence of anything special about the game engine or graphics, or any screenshots that are any more impressive than the likes of Crysis or Metro. The extreme requirements are most likely just the result of a bad console port. In other words, you have to throw powerful hardware at a software problem.

The game looks very good, but it shouldn't require those settings just to run on ultra at 1080p. I can run better looking games at this resolution with my setup quite easily. Plus we should all know that recommended specs tend to be bogus, we'll see when the time comes.

Yeah, there's really nothing about a 4820/4930K that outperforms a 4770 or a well-oc'ed 3570, unless they miraculously coded the game for multi-threaded (HT) performance on 4+ cores. Which is, of course, about as likely as being struck by lightning today. So what we have here, really, is either a poorly coded console port or a whole lot of marketing hype. Most likely, both.

I got such a kick out of when the recommended specs were released and no-brainers were flipping out over it needing an "eight core i7-3770" as if there is such a thing. I'm hoping against it, but this smacks of a GTA IV-esque port.

I'm a bit pissed. When I first heard about this game and how they were developing it on the PC then would port it over to consoles I was excited. Now I feel lied to.

Will it feature AMD Mantle? If so, just wait until AMD patches it to run more efficiently and then Nvidia will dust off that driver they've had on the shelf and it will only require a 760 to run ultra settings.

I read the game is being sponsored by NVIDA because they are using the TXAA settings, so either they really don't know how to optimize PC games or they have some kind of ultra futuristic game engine

So if I buy the Ultra Unlimited $99 DLC, ontop of the $60 for the game, and another $99 for the Seasonpass DLC, will I get the free Ultra settings to run on my 8800GT Ultra on a 12K/4D monitor, for free with a simple free bios update, and call it Super Ultra?

I'm also glad games are coming out that will finally take advantage of beefier systems, yet still be fairly accessible by lesser ones. IMHO you should need pretty beefed up hardware to run at full/ultra settings. I think the gaming community has gotten spoiled by being able to run games that way with last gen or older hardware. Granted, my system might not have the hardware to meet the ultra specs either, but I'm glad it's being done. Remember Crysis?? :)

Perhaps they are quoting the specs to run 4k...or even possibly 4k surround. It time we really started embracing more res than 1080. I haven't owned a 1080 monitor in over 6 years.

Hello everyone. this is my first post ever here. Just wondering... I have a build under construction and I'm looking to either get Watchdogs for console or make a run for the PC edition and right now it is like this: - AMD Phenom II X4 965 STD edition // Planning to upgrade to a FX-6300 in a near future - Kingston HyperX Red (x1) 8GB @ 1600Mhz // Planning to add another module in the future - EVGA GTX 750Ti 2GB (ain't the FTW version but the registration system seems to think so) SC + OC with Precision X // I ain't planning to move much from here, perhaps when a new GTX with the Maxwell architecture comes out. - Generic 720p monitor - Windows 8 Pro 64-bit At best, what kind of result can I expect running Watchdogs with my current settings and what results can I expect once I upgrade? Go easy on me, I ain't an expert in this business of building rigs, I just learned the way of building rigs a couple of months ago.

Well you wont be able to run the game at maximum settings but I imagine medium would be a good guess. But to be honest you might as well guess some lottery numbers as until the game comes out and we can't actually test it as there is no way of knowing how it will perform on your and our hardware until we have it in front of us in a few weeks.

The game Im waiting for is "Division", that looks awesome. Does that Watch Dog main character look like Tom Cruise to anyone else?
