It is/was real at one point. There was actually a real picture of a prototype. There has been no word on a release date or any specifics in a while.

They would make a mint if they made one that was actually beefy enough to power a Classy, OC'd i7, and 2 GTX 295's, or 4 of their 285's and other stuff like hard drives, water pumps etc... efficiently. As it is my computer dims the lights during vantage runs.

Date: 1/11/2009 EVGA company prepares the announcement of two power units models with 1200 W as reliable power source for the recently released motherboard x58 SLI classified. The power units are developed by EVGA and equipped with two octal EPS +12 v. EVGA assumed that such power units can reliably supply electric power for system on base of several powerful video card. The special features of EVGA new power units will become the load capacity: 120 A will be divided in all between two +12 v lines. Each power unit EVGA in this series will be cooled by only 120 mm fan. The differences between models will consist in the cables connection diagram : one power units will have the modularized cables circuit connection , and the second will propose a one-piece cable. These differences will barely affect the price of power units. By the looks of it... It's a scrapped project.

But Folding doens't use anywhere near as much juice as vantage run. I have an 1100W, and 1000. upgraded from 1000 & 800.
