Hi All,

Today we announced our EVGA GTX 780 6GB Graphics Card.  In addition to that announcement, we are also announcing that it will be available for our Step-Up Program!  Sign up to be notified when the card/Step-Up is available here!

Thank You,
Rob

  • Although the same chipset, you can upgrade from an EVGA GTX 780 3GB to an EVGA GTX 780 6GB (we normally don’t allow Step-Ups within the same chipset)
  • If you go to http://www.evga.com/articles/00830/ and sign up to be notified and are within your 90 day Step-Up window, your Step-Up will be locked in regardless if availability and Step-Up starts after your 90 day window has passed!

Jacob will try to answer some of your other questions later today!

Possibility of 6gb 780ti? I know, probably not due to titan black but thought I would ask as I'm sure someone else will anyways.

Maybe is Maxwell not so close as people think.
And to be honest GK110 offer lot of performance, you need SLI only for 2560x1440 and more resolution.
With previous models you always need SLI if you want max AA on 1920x1080. They could sell GK110 models as premium chip whole year.

That it awesome. I was going to get a 3Gb card, but this new card is definitely something I want instead. I want it to be a dual bios card, with an ACX cooler.        =)

What would be the difference between the 780 6gb vs the Titan or Titan Black? Isn't a 780 pretty much a titan but with only 3 gigs of vram?

780 6GB is just what it says a 780 with 6GB of VRAM.
A Titan is faster than a 780 due to extra cuda cores on board... 2304 vs 2688.
A Titan Black = 780 ti with 6GB of VRAM.

That is correct the GTX 780 is a great performing card but the GTX Titan Black will perform better.

Titan also has double precision (FP64) for compute.

amazing turn around on the 780 brand.
definitely more worthy than a regular 780 with 3GB

although this puts the owners of titan black in a "shaky" spot... but i guess it depends on what they bought it for...

Too bad I already have a 780...... With only 3GB of ram..... Fantastic waste of money if I would have known the 6 GB version was coming out I would have waited. WTH am I spose to do with this 780... Was going to sli now there is no point to even get another 3GB version. And or waste even MORE money on the 6GB version thats exactly the same as the one I have and cant use it with my existing card....

Probably not... would gouge Titan profits as most users don't need compute.

Sucks, but welcome to the new market. I don't blame EVGA for this either. It's NVIDIA that's the problem.

I'm guessing there won't be a 6gb 780ti as its the same shader count as a titan black and would cut into sales of the black albeit no double precision on the 780ti. A 6gb 780 is not a threat based on its cuda cores. Hope the ti is coming out as I would love to step up to a 6gb version.

Actually in my personal opinion what would be nice is a 4GB GTX 780ti card to match more or less what AMD is offering for memory.

It would, but to find out months later that 6gb was going to be an option... I was going to SLi as well and deal with it just like sinisteragent. Now I'm just stuck at a loss for words and take a huge hit on the sale of my card? bleh.

Unfortunately no one wants to pay 400+ for a card that's used anymore. Ill just keep it and get the 8 series when it comes out or when these are dirt cheap. It plays everything i can throw @ it @1920x1080 on max. It would of just been nice to have the extra memory. And when EVGA/Nvidia said "No there will not be a 6GB 780" I was like, well.... Ok then, I'll bite. Then POOF* 6GB... Just makes you think hmmmm. They are just wanting my money even more now.

Try selling your current one, and use that money towards a new card.

It's NVIDIA that makes the decision not EVGA(to make a 6GB 780 or not), at least that is what everyone thinks... nobody really knows 100%.

So over on overclock.net EVGA_JacobF confirmed 6gb 780ti in the works for May/June. That leaves the important question of price. Makes me wonder as well perhaps Maxwell further off then many would hope.
