hi all, new to evga forum and a new owner of a GTX770 SC dual.

The problem I have is that every time I try to play a game, soon as game loads pc craches straight away.
I have uninstalled drivers and reinstalled as clean, seen another thread about doing that, but still same.

Start with all of your system specs real quick, including cpu clocks and all. That is going to help the people that will be able to help you the most.

How is the pc crashing? Hard shutdown? Crash to desktop? Video driver error?

Sounds like a PSU issue. Do you have a digital multimeter?

It's necessary. You need to test your PSU...

PSU Testinghttp://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/t137886.html or
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/guides/testingPSU/ (You will need a Digital Multimeter for testing your PSU. You want all three rails to be within ATX spec, ATX Specification: 12V: 11.40 to 12.60,  5V: 4.75 to 5.25,  3V: 3.135 to 3.465. If any of your rails hit the minimum spec I would replace the PSU with a new one.)
HOW TO: Properly load your system when checking PSU voltages.
#1 Download & Install Prime95
#2 Download & Install EVGA OC Scanner X
#3 Open both Prime95 & EVGA OC Scanner X. (Run Small FFT test for Prime95. Run stress test Furry E @ 1024x1024 with 8x AA. Run both of these tests at the same time while checking voltages.)

No problem. Have you checked your CPU & GPU temps as well? No overheating?

Re: GTX770 SC dual crashes pc 2014/02/28 17:48:01 (permalink)
heat is very low.
the psu is a themaltake 750 modular, I have seen bad reports about this psu,
as I am getting set to do a full upgrade, I started with the oldest part which was my gpu.
if to fix this problem I need to get a evga psu I will do this and continue to get upgraded.
looking at a

120-G2-1000-XR - 1000W EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 Full Modular 80PLUS GOLD 90%+ Eff' Continous Power PSU
or
120-G2-1300-XR - 1300W EVGA SuperNOVA G2 80PLUS Gold 90%+ Eff' Full Modular Power Supply

the 1300w maybe over kill.

would one of these psu fix my issues

just seen your mod rig. awesome man

I'd get the 1300w for future proofing. Yes, getting a new PSU should fix your problems if your PSU is the problem. If you run prime95 and evga oc scanner both at the same time does your system crash & reset?

It is the PSU, I had a Tough Power 750w and it was crap, same issue
on 3 different PSU's (RMA'd 3 times). Last one I got lasted 4 months before
it completely died.
Thermaltake PSU NEVER AGAIN!

Good choice, I actually want to get that same unit later on to replace my dated Corsair TX750 80+ Bronze just because I'm trying to make my systems as energy efficent as possible.
