Since the 750 and 750 Ti launched I though they would make great single slot cards due to their low power consumption, low temps, and in the case of EVGA's cards already having all the connectors within a single slot. I also thought EVGA if anyone would be the ones to do it since they were one of the only if not the only companies to put out a proper single slot 640 (v1).

I posted my idea in the thread announcing the 750, 750 Ti, and Titan Black. Jacob got back to me with "No plans right now, sorry. We may look into it if there is demand though." After that there ended up being others that voiced their interest in a single slot 750 or 750 Ti so I thought I would create this thread to drum up some more interest, demand, and also to get some ideas flowing.

For me this would replace my single slot 640 (v1) 4GB. I would also buy EVGA's DisplayPort Hub because I have the 640 running my 3 auxiliary displays via HDMI and that would make it far more elegant. Personally I would prefer this product to be a 750 Ti as for HTPC's this would mean you could even do a good bit of gaming with the machine. Seeing the 6-pin PCI-E connector would be nice but only if it was optional meaning that it could run with and without it. When plugged in it might let the card clock higher or something. I would prefer to see a blower cooler with some copper because of the space constraints. A back plate would be cool to see as well, just cause. :P

Well guys show you interest if you have any and share your ideas of what you would like to see on the card.

I also created a thread with a poll over at LTT forums for any of you that have an account over there.

Isn't it already single-slot? On nVidia's website, that's what it says.

Also, what is the difference betw single and double slot?

I tend to agree, I think the first company who comes up with a good single
    slot 750 will sell lots.

The bracket on the reference model only takes up one but it physically takes up more than one.

Though of another thing, just a random idea, would be if it could be made half height for those really small cases especially of the HTPC variety. I dont have one or any use for one but if you did do that you would have to choose your display connectors wisely. My choice for something like that would be DVI-I and DP, maybe even miniDP instead of DP just to save room. Since between those two you could get all of your different display options out of and could even run 3 displays with a DP Hub.

I would love to see a single slot version of this card. I was looking to get several for a Distributed Computing number crunching system until I noticed they were double slot thus killing my idea since the number of cards I was looking at won't fit onto my motherboard.

There is backplates available. I would love to get a single slot card just to clean up the bottom of my case and be able to keep it without interfering with my liquid system.

I know but this one may have a different PCB slight maybe if it gets made, idk.

I would rather see a fanless design as these are two different approaches that actually accomplish very different things.  While space consumption is better on the single slot, the noise would be worse, which is what I am trying to eliminate.  Already there are complaints about the 750Ti ftw being too loud.

Just something to keep in mind.

I believe that is complaint is for the FTW ACX because the cooler is overkill but you cant drop the fans lower than ~40%.

I think it is a great idea. I could surely slap one in my 2.0 16X slot and run it at 8X for PhysX (I assume there would be no bottleneck).

I am also all for one. I would prefer the 750 Ti if possible. Honestly, it doesn't matter whether the fan takes up an extra slot, the only limiting thing for me is the fact that my Lian Li PC-Q03B only has one PCI slot cutout. But I would love one for my HTPC.

And FWIW, Asus already makes a 1 slot GTX 750:

That ASUS card has a dual slot cooler or at least more than single slot (look at the straight on bracket view) so that is not what im looking for. You had my hopes up for a moment there.

I would definitely be interested, I want to run one as a physX card in my bottom slot but it has to be a single slot width because my power supply would get in the way.

If they are good Folding and Crunching then I would maybe like 6 to 8 of them.

The would have the same performance of their OEM counterparts or better I would assume.

I would literally buy a dozen or more single slot 750 Tis. Extra points if they have 6 pin power and an x4/x8 connector on them.. unlikely, but it'd make cramming a bunch of GPUs in my 2P system easier :)

I'd like a single slot 750. I'd prefer a Ti variant, but I just want a single slot version of this new card. Would be handy for folding.

I will either find a way, or make one.
